I didn't like the 80's music in the movie at first, but then I warmed to it. Among other things, it conveyed a sense of Marie and Louis' adolescence and how they were put into roles they weren't ready for.
I liked the movie but it was trying to show French history with a modern perspective. They went as far as to have the score/soundtrack come from 1980's pop and rock albums. The music ought to have been 18th century classical. The beheading of Marie and Louis was not featured, and should have been. I also hate that they omitted the important Affair of the Necklace which brought the worst reputation on Marie to the public who thought she wanted a dazzling necklace that was a trap set for her.
Thank you for this; one thing is to imagine how maybe it al came togeher, another is actually seeing how that happened.

I'm quite surprised this clip doesn't mention that Marie Antoinette's last words were "OPERATOR, I'VE BEEN CUT OFF!"

@JubalCalif i believe her last words were "Pardon me sir, I meant not to do it." after she stepped on the executioner's foot by accident.
