Mike, you are a very rational person, and you MUST know that this "survey" was very likely biased in the manner in which the questions were asked, and that if this survey was developed by a Muslim scholar, the questions and legislation and legal proceedings required for apostates would have been presented in an honest manner, rather than a blanket statement such as "99% of Americans believe it is ethical to kill a traitor"

I fear Islam. I also fear Christianity. Most Muslims are not terrorists. Most Christians are not terrorists. I believe "Revealed" religion does instigate a portion of its followers toward violence though. Fighting either religion is pointless. It just causes them to hunker down. The best way to fight this kind of thing is good science and social education, combined with building up a world wide middle class. Stability is essential.

ok. if the rules of ANY religion were followed completely, we really wouldn't have most of the problems that have arisen today. when it comes down to it, most religions are getting at the same basic principle: treat others how you yourself would like to be treated. the problem generally doesn't lie with a faith itself, but with the way its ideas are interpreted and expressed. we can see examples of this in almost any religion you like, from the KKK to Al Qaeda.

IRAN does not equal ISLAM...but I can see how you could make that mistake with 2 identical letters in both names (I and A) and 2 letters that are only one apart (R to S, and N to M). After all, IRAQ and QAIDA also shared many letters.
