tnx badmephisto! your awesome.. just solved rubik's cube blindfolded for the first time...very well taught.. took me 11 minutes to solved the cube.. 7 min for memorization and 4 min for the execution..
can you make a tutorial for the M2 R2 method? i cant get the idea of M2 method on other videos, maybe i'll get it if it's your tutorial =).
@HateKidz yes. that'd be a shortcut I'd take in this instance. however, you need to be careful with shortcuts, as you could change things you didn't mean to such as parity, or you might continue with the pattern you memorized, and solve those pieces twice. if you can be careful with it, go ahead and take shortcuts that appear to you.
@Little123ziggY You don't need to learn how to solve blind, but apparently you're interested. If you want to solve blind, the Y-Perm is highly recommended. It is a basis for many of the easier methods. That said, I'm sure there are some unpopular methods that don't use the Y-perm. But that likely makes them difficult to use ( hence why they're unpopular).
I watched this video multiple times and still confused........... Can you please make a new one with a full scramble in stead of one side already done?
For a full blindfolded solve, ( so fully scrambled) do i have to start with doing ALL of the edges (yellow + white pieces too)? and than do the corners?
Story's don't work for me because I don't have a very vivid imagination. My way is just letters for corners and numbers for edges. the reason being is because all sizes of cubes have exactly 24 corner stickers ( less than the 26 letters of the alphabet). And lets say u wanted 2 learn how 2 solve a 4x4 blind. It's still just letters for corners and numbers for edges again. Then I just over and over repetitively recite the entire sequence over and over until it sinks in, then I solve.
I'm ten yrs old and i can easily do this without a blindfold. I almost did the edges (two were flipped blind folded. I will attempt again and tell you how it went
OMG!!!!!!!!! I just figured out that when you are doing oll and you get chemeleon you can just hold it so that one solved corner is in the bottom right and one is in the bottom left and then do this... "U R' D' R D until the right corner is on top, the turn it again and do it again and the the rest is just common sense..... hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!
i found this vid very helpful :) i don't see why people are complaining cuz they have to learn some things by themselves. however this vid teaches just about everything and this is the best tutorial i found :) good job!!
Still the best BLD tut an youtube! only your memory method is OLD it is much easier just to visual memory the cube. And also use the Y-perm without F,F'
im still confused... maybe you could show more examples on edge and corner solving. However, I would like to thank you for your videos n links, as well as your clear explanation. It helped me to speedsolve my 3x3 in 21.48s (Fastest) :)
@BrandonKAli OLL + PLL... is part of being a speedcuber, ite helps significantly bring down your times ;) And is not so hard to learn so I would guess he does know them all :)
I made it and it is on YouTube actually. I captured my first successful BLD solve thanks to meph. Check out my one month cubing progress if you like. I think it is interesting.
Badmephisto, there is no reason to hide it anymore. We all now the truth. You are just a table with hands.
Nah, just kidding.. To be honest, I didn't learn how to BLD-solve because of this tutorial, but it really helped me understand everything this other guy told me about it. That is almost just as helpful.
@skankingrudeboy But if you shoot it to somewhere else, then shoot it back again in its good ''flip'' to it's correct location(the buffer zone), then you should it to somewhere else again? (since it's in the buffer zone)?
I'm practicing everything without the blindfold for now, I think tomorrow I'll work on trying to do just the edges blindfolded, hopefully I'll be successful. Then, I'll practice that for a few days and then I'll start corners. I want to do it gradually so I can take my time learning it. This tutorial is amazing!
Great tutorial, only 1 very minor catch: "every scramble has several cycles." That is not necessarily true, I've had a few scrambles with the edges only having a single cycle.
PS Please don't apologize for the long vids; I enjoy watching you work your genius! I watched this entire video AND the 30 minute "How to solve" tutorial without even having my cube with me and I wasn't bored once (confused? Yes; but not bored). And the confusion is due to my lack of knowledge regarding how to solve the cube...nothing to do with you).
This is very helpful. I did not see the algorithm for Y and R permutations. The video shows only T and J permmutations. Can soneone point me to this information?
@RookieN08 this method isn't layer-by-layer method like Fridrich or begginer's method, but Corner-edges (i don't know exactly how is it called) you solve first edges, then u solve corners, no first layer, no last layer
This is way to hard... Your tutorial is superb and easy to understand, but i don't get how you would be able to memorize the correct set up moves -.- and i even have trouble doing this method without a blind fold :(
ok so ur example is confusing. i did the algorithms for the corners u wrote and it messed it up and didnt look anything like urs. did u write the wrong ones?? it says on the end of one U'/U2. tht doesnt make sense. why would u just do U??
@badmephisto Actually the simple answer is "Yes". After all this entire method is a slow one. (If you care about speed, start with a basic 3 cycle).
But I've got a question too: Do you treat correctly positioned, but miss oriented pieces as cycles with only 1 piece, or do you just orient them all separately? (Obviously both are possible, but the second one is much much more efficient.)
There is one tip I have for anyone else doing this: learn the algorithms first. Going into this I only knew 2-step PLL, so all of these are foreign to me. sum1 plz tell me what the best 3x3 cubes are ive got the standard rubiks cube and i dont like it can be quite stiff even after ive lubed it ??????????
y dont u do it from the beginning startin at how to solve the cross withur eyes closed this is just confusing. How can i solve the corner peiecs if i cant get to that position
@badmephisto ok well thanks for replyin so quickly. You dont actually solve the cross do you?? u start off from puttin the buffer peices in there correct positions and then the corners. Is that right???
This is almost identical to my own method: I orientate all the pieces first though, then I can assign each piece one letter, and make that the first letter of a word. I find it easier to do that then having to know the difference between OY and YO for example. But after I orientate, it's pretty much the same, even the same algs.
Hey can I use the alg R U2 R' U' R U2 L'U R' U' L instead of the J perm? It does the exaxt same thing, and I happened to know that alg before so I don't have to learn a new alg.
is it possible to use the ability in memorising edges to solve faster in F2L? im juz curious..coz i dunno y im stuck at 25secs ( d best) n average : 29.08.. mayb i juz need to practice more..but im trying to learn the old Pochmann at the same time for blindfold cubing..
Seems like a really nice guid, I saw 15 min of it and quit becuase I am not done learning PPL and OLL, im am still on 2-look on them both, would be a better idea to learn them properly before I get more into this =)
omg so this finally made sense to me when i watched it this time, lmao....
im going to practice with setups in pochman a little before i move on to memorizing positions...then im gonna practice by writing down color codes/positions and solve without looking much (if at all) just looking at the color code....then ill make story :D
@MrMuhammad11 Why do people always add at the end of their messages: "I'm 12"? I'm curious. Anyway, that just comes down to practice. After a while you will come up with a standard set of setup moves that you use always, and you will know how to undo them.
Great tutorial, it only took me a few hours to learn how to do it !

@badmephisto ok well thanks for replyin so quickly. You dont actually solve the cross do you?? u start off from puttin the buffer peices in there correct positions and then the corners. Is that right???

@Bruce5747
Why don't you learn to spell, then worry about cubes after?

This is almost identical to my own method: I orientate all the pieces first though, then I can assign each piece one letter, and make that the first letter of a word. I find it easier to do that then having to know the difference between OY and YO for example. But after I orientate, it's pretty much the same, even the same algs.

Hey can I use the alg R U2 R' U' R U2 L'U R' U' L instead of the J perm? It does the exaxt same thing, and I happened to know that alg before so I don't have to learn a new alg.

6:48 its as simple as this. (when you said that i was like, yes! this is the easy part) (but then your fingers went into a blur...)

@JacksonJSX94 "perm" is short for permutation, which is just an algorithm that moves pieces around the cube.
