  • My hubby and I had 10 early miscarriages then got dx of SLE & antiphospholipid. Then we had a ectopic. Almost gave up hope then got preg again. I felt completely healthy the whole time aside from lovenox shots. My now 9 year old son came out perfect @ 38 weeks. We have been infertile since but doesn't matter to me as for the last year been on cellcept anyway. We now do foster care and are about to adopt one of our fosters.

  • part 3

lupus patient can also have premature deliveries there is no concrete medical evidence to why but it hads been said it could be due to high doses of meds etc.some days I wish I knew less one more thing if anti ro positive echo scan is performed as baby is at risk to develop a heart block

  • part 2

the risks are more to the mother with lupus , pre eclampsia is one ,you could become gect diabetic if taking high doses of steroids, also is positive on the clotting test they maybe placental issues or restricted growth or death of the fetus ,but easily fixed with aspirin or clexane to thin the blood, just to mention this is not intended to be taken as a doctors advise you should be monitored by a obstetricians,

  • part 1

I just wanted to corect you a bit I too have lupus and positive anti ro , 1st my lupus was finally discovered after the loss of my child have been through infertility for 9yrs ,babies born to mother of lupus have high risk of the heart issue you refer to if they are anti ro positive not lupus itself ,also anti ro positive is whar makes a baby more likely to have neonatal lupus, there perfectly safe medications ie corticosteroids in pregnancy for lupus ,

  • Your really beautiful :)

  • Does lupus affect menustrual cycles? I don't have lupus but i love doing research about different diseases because it facinates me about the disfunctions of the human body.

  • i have that antiphosolipid antibody syndrome that you mentioned. i've been dealing with that since i was 19! it scares the crap out of me bc i want to have kids one day too but it has to be planned very carefully bc of the lupus & aps. my mother also has lupus & had complications when my baby brother was born. he was 5 weeks early! that was how she found out she had lupus. that was back in 86. we've come a long way w/ lupus research & tx since then! good luck when you do decide to have a family!

  • I also beleive I had Lupus since my teen years. I almost lost my first pregnancy but I had her a week early. The placenta was full of clots. Exactly two years later to the date I lost my second pregnancy at 4 months. It turns out I had Lupus anticuaculant or antiphospholipids. I was told to terminate my third pregnancy or I would loose it anyway. My Rheumy who specialized in preg. put me on 10 mgs of prednisone and bay asprin. I carried my daughter 36 weeks and she and I made it though A-OK.

  • I'm in my 40's & had 4 miscarriages due to a high ANA counts. I have 0 children.

  • im so glad u made this video because, i was watching a video about people stories its on the lupus foundation channel and this guys wife died after 6 months of having a baby and she had lupus. This is one thing that iam always thinking about because i do later on in life want to have babies. Iam gonna be 20 on june 12 but still its something that i think about. and its actually made me cry and sad to think that i cant have a baby. But u said woman with lupus have made it happen.

  • I know I have suffered from lupus my entire life but was not diagnosed until 8-9 years ago. I had my son almost 22 years ago and suffered from severe preemclampsia and toxemia. My doc said he thought I was going to have a stroke. From all the toxins in my body my son became very ill from my breastfeeding and I had to stop. Now I know I had lupus and the antiphospholipid syndrome. My son also has autoimmune disorders.

  • I wasn't diagnosed with lupus until 1997 but believe I have had it since I was a teenager. I had three children and all three tried to come pre term. I started going into labor with each child around 6 weeks early. I was on medicine to stop the labor and managed to have the all at term. My first child was born with a congenital heart defect and has had three open heart surgeries and will require a transplant one day. This has not been linked to the lupus.

  • @lupiemelly14 I have lupus and carried my son to just a week before his due date so he was just on time in my book, 7 lbs. 4 oz. I pray your child is healed in Jesus Name.
