It's kinda sad, Yuji Naka helped create the Sonic franchise, but he also helped destroy it. It's all his fault and (Nights' in a way)! Had Yuji Naka not 'fallen in love with it', he wouldn't have freaked out about them using the Nights engine

I'm a nintendo fan, but I wish this had come out and flattened the overrated Mario 64. This game looked better in so many ways, for example, it appears you control sonic in a 2 Dimensional way for the most part, which would be easier to get used to when all we really had before was sidescrollers.

If the theory of the game taking to long that it was cancelled is correct then sega are a bit stupid, things take time. Super mario 64 delayed the 64's release cause they had to finish it. If they had cancelled super mario 64 we would not have had it.

No, if I remember what you're referring to is that the PC level data of Sonic X-treme was leaked and was viewable through some viewer coded specifically for the levels. It basically lets your free view the whole entire level.

1) the levels you see here were all captured by Chris Senntient

2)this prototype u see in the videos was never leaked or for that matter never left Sega of Japans building so how can you have get your hands on this prototype?

3) The NiGHTs engine proto was done by Chris Coffin but this one was leaked because the person who bought it off ebay,leaked it himself thus making it the only existing copy of Sonic X-treme available to the public.

SEGA Japan played a part in the games death, but it wasn't them that cancelled it. It was Mike Wallis the producer of the game who had to cancel it, because there was no one left to finish the game.

There isn't anything to release i keep telling you that. At the end of the development, there were two bosses and one barely playable level done. The PC version will never see the light of days thanks to that twat Ofer Alon. Thanks to him, we'll never know the truth.

Well the PC version yes, it was ready for production, the levels were 60% done, and Ofer Engine was 50%ish i can't remember the full details of the top of my head. But Chris said it wasn't properly finished.

man this wouldve been good on saturn. but at least saturn has sonic 3d blast which was a superior version of the gens game. its similar to when nintendo released twilight princess for wii and gamecube except that the gamecube tp game was much better. the wii version is only for ppl who want to try it a different style.

This game is a remake of the unrealised Sonic X-Treme, but it isn't out yet. If you want, you can download the prototype of the original game, but you need a Sega Saturn emulator or a chipped Saturn.

The game will never come out, but the Xtreme inspired Project S is under development at the Senntient website.
