  • Good Job!! i'm preparing for a big solo tomorrow and looking for some inspiration. I'm 15 and i doubt I'll be able to play near to that good XD though i have never had private lessons.

  • Nick I'm sure I've told you this before, but your gonna be big! :D

  • what mouthpiece and reed do you use for your alto?

  • i need put some videos of me playing sax with my best friend who plays sax gutiar clarinet flute and piano.

  • impressive...you have a great range and stay in pitch on the high notes. Tone is awesome too :)

  • Nicely done!

  • show este vídeo é d+, tbm toco sax mas... creio q ainda não cheguei nesse nível.

  • Very Impressive! You sound awesome!

  • dude you're really great - keep it up :)

  • That was amazing man, i've been playing sax for about 4 years now and am the lead sax/soloist for each concert. I've had to do a few improved solo's but none for that long, most are about 20 - 30 measures long. Your solo was really good, and you have great tone, just put some rests in there, not all eighth runs. Make some syncopated stuff too, that always sounds good no matter what you are doing. Anyway, just saying nice job on this.

  • lets just say that ive been playing for a while and i KNOW ur good

  • hey its Allie!

you are amazing at the sax! wow my friend plays....she is not very good though! lol i haven't talked to you in forever! well i thought i would watch your video before i went to volleyball! TTYL!

  • Hey man. I play alto and like to rock out with this sorta funk stuff too :P. Some stuff that I really liked were your arpeggios and the fact that you can use the full range of the instrument. Some suggestions are the use of space! Constant eighth note runs are fun as hell but get to be too much. So make your licks clean and clear to hear. Other than that I love your style man! Keep playing

  • Geez Nick, you're freaking amazing.

  • yeah, but I thought that metal mouthpieces weren't good for alto saxes. My private lesson teacher said they make too bright of a sound on alto's.

  • get a metal mouthpeice : ] a dukoff or Jody Jazz work Wonders. ...jody jazz is hell expensive though. lol

  • Sure :)

Yeah, I was using blues scales, but my private lesson teacher is getting me out of that and actually playing the chord changes with modes, major scales, minor scales etc. I just hope I can get the hang of it soon!

  • eah i usually just use blues scales too my private lesson teacher is doing the same its prety tough sum times, but timprov is always fun haha

  • For sure!

  • yah, its amazing how many scales you can use for each chord change. my private teachers teachin me too and it hard to remember...

  • nice run on that blues scale there.

im 14 and i got no private teacher either

check out my videos and tell me what u think :)

  • pretty good Im just goin around tellin people to check my website

  • Umm, well, I started playing jazz in 7th grade and I just practiced alot....i guess lol. I never had a trick for learning things or getting better.....I just did. It's weird but I have just recently started taking private lesson from a professor at UCF so I'm alot better than I was here right now. But yeah, no trick, just practice. Things came to me naturally :)

  • WOW... this is amazing, I've been playing for 6 years, and I'm not nearly as good as you. How did u start playing such good jazz? Is there a trick to it you learned, or did you get lessons?

  • Nice bro! I need to upload a new vid lol I've gotten a lot better since I uploaded my last one, in that one my time struggled a ton. Most guys don't get time very well for a long time, I've got it now, but man, u already got it! I'll upload a vid of me improvising soon. But enough about me, you are a lot better than most kids your age! Keep it up man and send me a copy of your first CD!

  • oh, I was fourteen when I played this if you wanted to know too.

  • Umm, well I was playing this when I was a freshman so from the time in the video i've played since sixth grade so, I think it's......3 years? That sounds about right. But now I'm a sophomore this upcoming year so it's about to be 4 :)

  • This kid is pretty amazing! How long have you been playing sax for?!?!
