All of you morons who keep saying the same old tired shite about how digital can never touch the "heart and soul" inherent in a tube amp should just shut the fuck up and play an Axe-Fx II. Put your money where your pansy ass mouth is: I will bet you 1000.00 dollars that you will not be able to tell the difference between my plexi sound and the real thing - any takers wankers?
Superb effort my friend! It's also great to see a fellow leftie who also managed to get the Ibanez Jem Prestige! Ain't it amazing? Check out my own video to see me play the Star Wars Throne Room theme on mine, but with about 60 multi-tracked guitar overdubs! :o)
There are a few things that people fail to realize when giving their opinions about the axe fx. One of them is that the axe fx is a solution, not a substitute. Whoever thinks the axe is a substitute for tube amps, this person got it totally wrong. When you need to travel light, need to get killer tone without getting evicted, and/or not being able to buy 7 high-end tube amps to end up using only one. If you have the financial means, and an adequate space to crank them up and record, go for it...
@pesciro Amen. I've heard a few now and they sound really good as they are. But it's not the real thing by any stretch. That being said, the travel light thing can't be underestimated. Truly worth it in that respect.
Check out Thiago Campos vids on youtube. This guy covers some Dream Theater with a Mark IV. That is the real Mark IV tone.
Also, the VH4 patch on the Axe is nothing like the real Diezel VH4 (which I own). The Diezel Herbert is the king for metal riffing. The Axe just doesn't compare to the high-end real amps.
I'm waiting for the "Super" Axe Fx with "blast processing". Then I'll give it another try.
@squirttilithurts axe-fx can nail the mark IV tone quite similar, take a look to axe forum for some comparison between the real one with the axe one. Anyway in this vid i play with a patch good to my ears, not a mark replica tone. Axe can handle more and more amp tone and it cost something less than one tube amp. To me is a great deal. Amps+cabs+effects, it can play as a preamp, an effect processor and ready to go for recording session. All this stuff in only 2 rack unit.
@squirttilithurts I slightly disagree... I owned a Mark IV and a 4*12 Half 'n Half. Hell of a gear and hell-like heavy together (80kg or so). I plugged in my this time new Axe FX Ultra and switched on/off between The Mark IV's Pre and the Ultra's replica i made for that sound. Well it did sound just very slightly different, but not worse at all. I you like it might have just a bit been more clean by the Ultra's Pre-sound, but definitely not worse in any kind. I sold my Boogies finally...
@boardboy1914 thank you :), i can send you this patch with no problem, send me a pm with you personal mail. There's one thing to remember, the patch could not sound just the video recording, 'cause cables, pickups and personal touch can modify the overall tone. At least you can view the patch and learn how it's made.
@shelbywilliford thank you for the kind words :) , The Axe-Fx is insanely amazing, so, buy it without regrets and don't forget a midi pedalboard+a midi interface for saving patches, upgrade firmwares, live patch tweaks and so on. cheers

The "real amp" does not sound better squirtlikeasissy. Fractal rules! You're playing is exceptional - there are a lot of envious posers out there.

You should buy a real Mark IV. The real amp sounds better than the Axe.
