  • I'm from AKRON but Youngstown does go ham.

  • The Churches should never have tried to save the steel industry in Youngstown . In so doing, they poured good money after bad & delayed Youngstown's recovery 20 years . Thankfully for its residents & investors, the town is now on its way to joining the rest of the country in the post industrial world.

  • I am in agreement. The Congressman of Youngstown at the time said that the plan was "ill-advised and ill-conceived". Clergy should not run steel mills, plain and simple. The book describes ways that churches can today promote entrepreneurship, local investment, and a positive outlook for the city's future. I agree with you: I believe we have the potential to be a vibrant, renewed city. Thanks for the comments. Dr. Reichard
