I had a Razormaid mix of this song. There were two songs on the vinyl mix 12": I Am What I Am by Gloria Gaynor, followed by Foreign Land by Technos. I love this song and consider it a classic. Happy to see it posted and enjoyed.
JD Arnold really did this hit well at Rich's in Houston. He played a portion of Wizard of Oz on the video screen during this song. Dorothy, the Lion, Scarecrow and the Tin Man walking throught the forest. Quite the tune. JD was very creative.
i think this did pretty well on the US dance charts ... i actually remember the song as a kid in Los Angeles, and i used to also listen to the dance charts on the radio (i was too young to go clubbing back then) but i remember this being in the Top 10 ....
Thank you so much!! For years I've been seaching for this song. I have some great memories connected to it. I knew that the title was "Forgein Land" by the Technos (Although, I was unsure about the spelling) . I had tried everything, and had actually given up. Until, I stumbled upon one of your other video's, which led me to it.... Thanks again.
Yes! And there WAS a video for this i think, or was it 'Hype'? I remember it was on a laserdisc Jukebox.. I have the 12-inch of this track, the Dub on the b-side is frikkin awesoem - Full-On Fairlight overdose!! Still play my Technos 12-inches at partys when we flip into 'dr.Click' mode :) Long live the Technos! Anyone got a copy of the Computer/Board game that went with HYPE? was a VIRGIN GAMES product????
