I loooove this pedal!!! I have been using delays for 5 years now (since I started playing) and I have had an 80's Boss DM2, an 80's Ibanez AD9, a MXR Carbon Copy (which I really recommend for lower budget/ best quality analog delay), a Boss RV3 (which is awesome!!!) a Boss DD7 (which I recommend and still have) and a 70's Dynachord Echochord Mino (which I still have) buuuut this pedal really does it all. Ok its not a real tape echo, but it recreates that sound that well that I almost can't tell

@MonosonicJukeJoint - I believe Andy used an overdrive as well in this vid, probably a Lovepedal or an Xotic BB Preamp into the Fender DRRi. Other than that it's all VM Superdelay. Thanks!

I received my Empress VM SD yesterday and love the delay this produces. The delays produced by this pedal are definitely some of the best I've heard. The tape mode sounds great and the reverse mode in mode C is definitely cool. Lots of possibilities in this pedal. PGS has been awesome in having sick gear, getting orders out on time and answering questions.

Now just put the vintage modified empress next to a Roland RE-201 and we'll really see how good it sounds. I own one and have for years and have never found a digital pedal that even comes close. It's all about the ghosts... This sounds pretty good, though.

A very small tape loop that was fed on a constant loop. It would record what you played and then play it back through several tape heads. The distance between the heads would create a small echo effect. The tape would be erased with each revolution, and would also wear out over time, which affected the sound a lot.
