Man those sound sweet! I would kill to have those! I'm probably gonna pick up an acrolite for myself soon! This is one of my favorite drumming vids on youtube man! Stick with it!
@whosthatdrummer Glad you like them. :) I have newer video where I brought these back out too. It's on my page. It's called "Classic Ludwig Drums: Revisited."
I'm pretty sure this is a Ludwig Rocker kit from the early 80's. The bass drum spurs and 8 lugs on the kick instead of 10, or 16 total instead of 20, along with the badges not being blue and olive make me think this. The snare doesn't look anything like the 67 Acrolite I have, yeah I have one from the same year, and the badge and lugs look different. Of course I could be wrong, but, I don't think so. They could've been from the late 70's but look like early 80's. Good sounding kit though.
@LeopoldGold1 Thanks man, did you see the right snare? Just wondering because some people confuse the Acrolite with the Centennial from the beginning.
@DrummerSlugger13 Hmm, well I really have no idea how much it cost in the 70's. I have an old catalog saved on my computer, but they're all super high end kits and this one wasn't that much. Thanks though!
@Finkenstein93 I love it too, but it's old and fragile and I needed something that I could take gigging and it be okay if it gets hurt. This is a family heirloom of sorts and actually belongs to my dad.
@JoshyNooney On this kit, I have to Emad head with the thinner foam ring for the kick. I used stock Ludwig heads from my Centennial kit with the Evans muffling rings on the toms and one moongel on the snare. That's it though.
@MrPeaBuddy its a pretty simple pattern. Just LRKK but I'm left handed and didn't learn properly. It would most likely be RLKK for you, but you'll be going up the tom instead of down. I hit the ride cymbal with my right hand the first time I did the pattern. Hope this helps
@DylanK811 Oh alright, I just noticed the description had the acrolite, but failed to watch all of it to see it. Way to go on the chipper attitude! ;D
@harisk1 Haha they're my dad's drums and he's kinda protective over them. But ya believe it or not, that's the camera! and I dont recall the name, but it is on my profile!

Buy yourself a thick rubber mat , with those holes in it , to
prevent the bass drum from sliding forward .
tamalexis 2 months ago
@tamalexis It may look like it's sliding, but it is firmly planted to the carpet. It just tilts when I hit it. :) Plus, this isn't my primary kit.

Is the snare stand holding your tom the pdp ss700 stand and if so are you able to lower it?
tgorwin1 5 months ago
@tgorwin1 Nope, that is an old snare stand from the 1970's, but that PDP snare stand would probably work fine.

how do you make your floor tom sound like that?
msAWESOMENESS1 1 year ago
@msAWESOMENESS1 It's the stock Ludwig heads that came with my Centennials. I tuned it up and put an Evans muffling ring on it, that's it!
