But their is always one thing I never hear anyone talking about and that is the smell that comes from it (I personally think it's nasty). Drug use is still just about the same today as before this "war" started, and we fill prisons with non-violent individuals. I suppose this "war" creates lots of jobs in the legal sector, but we should legalize everything to help better regulate these substances, tax their use, and conduct studies to understand how drugs affect us and create ways to fight them.

@Thizzilin I do not smoke, drink, or do anything like that, but the war on drugs is incredibly wasteful and unproductive. Drug use is still just about the same today as before this "war" started, and we fill prisons with non-violent individuals. I suppose this "war" creates lots of jobs in the legal sector, but we should legalize everything to help better regulate these substances, tax their use, and conduct studies to understand how drugs affect us and create ways to fight them.

I think legalization is the only way to actual regulate, tax, research, etc. I have many friends who smoke all the time and they are perfectly normal. At least this way, they won't get unecessary tickets, jailtime, and may actually not care as much once it is legal. And it looks like it will be in CA soon...

People who want to smoke it will do so regardless of its criminal element. And people high on LSD committing suicide will do so whether its legal or not. What the fuck is Hannity talking about? I have done every drug under the sun when I was a teenager. I can say I was never addicted to crack, heroin, or marijuana. I got addicted to meth briefly, but it was never as bad as alcohol, or tobacco. Why the double standard? Why can people not pick their poison if they want? My last point to make here is that I would probably never have gotten into hard drugs the way I did if they were legal. There is nothing cool about them, except for illegality.
