Knut should be taking to a sanctuary in northern Canada bordering the North Pole where he can be in his habitat ! He wouldn't be left to die (as in the wild) and yet he can enjoy plenty of snow and space to run...Pleaseee...!
You are right, in theorie. But wild animals that are born in captivity would not be able to survive if released into the wild. Human beings made a giant mistake catching the first animals in the 18 century, but now there's no way ti change it. That's sad and i wish there was a solution.
There's a very easy way to change it: sterlize the animals we have, then in a couple of years no more zoos.
That said I don't think zoos are so bad as long as the animals are well cared for. They also provide an invaluable service; they expose city folks to nature in way they would normally never experience. Zoo animals are in fact the best ambassador in the world for animal conservation.
that's right, but have you watched movie "Earth"? Their habitat is melting. Human beings are the worst environment wreckers in the entire world. Not until we can stop over-populated ourselves and stop harming other creatures, I'll say keeping them in the zoo is cruel, destroying all of them is even worse.
R.I.P. Knut. You'll be missed, but now you are with your twin. So sad so sad.

Poor guy. For all his size you could tell he was a gentle soul.

@satinbarbi A gentle soul that would rip your head off and bat it around like a soccer ball. Other than that, yes, they sure are cute. :)
