  • I was a kid when I first saw this, and when those guys took their hoods off, I SHIT myself.

  • 12 people are 29years & 364 days old

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 Most remakes ruin the film

  • @IainM887 Correct defininition is->MOST *CGI POORLY RESEARCHED INFORMATION* ruins the film! Notice how the CGI in Jurrassic Park was the ony time the CGI 3D image didnt look so fake like those National Inquire Photo-Chopped bat-boy images? Thats because the computer modeling was Filtered/and the computer modelers took time to make sure there was no errors-unlike that of The Incredible Hulk CGI where the animation has Hic-cups (CGI errors pauses for half second if know how to spot them)

  • THE STAR chambers to THE OCCUPY movement

  • well apparently dipshits are remaking this movie. lets just hope they do it at least half a semi justice.

  • The main reason why the Catholic Church is against birth control is that they can have more little white boys to anal rape. The first pope to ban abortion, Pope Pius IX 1869, was the same pope who had this young Jewish boy kidnapped for him. HIV/AIDS is 4X more common among Catholic priests in USA than general population.

  • i would hate a remake , just cus im afraid some fucking retard like Michael Bay will ruin it.

  • In Logan's run the book carousel was called Sleepshop, and Francis was also a runner

  • This is a movie we really need a modern remake with CGI and all that shit. This scene just aint cuttin' it!

  • @manco82 They are actually. It's coming out in 2014.

  • @manco82 Do you have any idea of how hard it was to film this scene back then? Go look it up.

  • @MasterJediDude, no idea at all, but I can imagine. I mean if all those people were on wires AND rotating AND all going round on a roundabout. There must have been a few takes for sure. And you can imagine the guy whose job it was to source the world's biggest fly zapper for the final scene.

  • Classic movie wow brings memories

  • If I ran the Carousel, I'd wait until everybody was 100 ft. up, switch the anti-gravity off and let them fall to the ground. Dead is dead, and the audience would probably think it was a pretty good joke.

  • @ignoblius the audience need to see the spectacular method of them being killed off so that the illusion that they're going to a higher plane/being reincarnated is preserved.

  • @ignoblius that's just not right! Lol!!!

  • what will they spend with queiam this show? What was the post what they want to force us in the future? will we ever have a future age will have to die? will be the new era? or the Illuminati? ?????????????? care that has long ago something very strange on TV

  • this takes places in 2274 according there birth date of 2244 this is there time to renew.identify,arise.haha your toast

  • Hmm... this must be where for-profit, corporate-run "healthcare" is ultimately heading.

  • @JuanDeSoCal no seeing that this is universal

  • nice wirework

  • I thought this was Logan's Run, not Bohemian Grove.

  • This is the kind of world that UNESCO has in store for us, after Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens-types have trolled authentic spirituality out of formalized existence. Needless to say...I wouldn't let them succeed, if I were you!

  • @Xervosh23 and organizations like the catholic church(or any church really) would be much worse than this killing any one based on clams that there god(or who ever) ordered it. im not saying i would want to live in either world but, hypothetically if those where my only options i would choose the Logan's run option, either way you die young

  • Add the tag national healthcare solutions!

  • GULLIBLE FUCKS JUST LIKE MOST HUMANS THESE DAYS

  • LOGAN 5: FUCK JESUS

  • The death carousel is a very good idea. It would get rid of all those stinkin old people who are such a burden on our society.

  • Why are they wearing hockey masks? Must be rough sort of life.

  • whatthefuckamiwatching.jpg

  • RENEW.

  • Sanctuary! Love this movie for all it's weirdness.

  • Gee, let me just have you lifted up, fly around and and get exploded my a giant crystal all while wearing creepy masks!!!

  • This is almost a future look of the raifd chips the want to put in everyone Mark of the Beast !!

  • @larrykepke rfid.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube I spelled it wrong but i was refering to the id chip they are planning to put in us

  • Respond to this video... i will not take the "chip"

  • @larrykepke me neither, i was just correcting your spelling and meant no disrespect.

  • Viewing them as a kid, "Logan's Run" and "Westworld" had such a big impact on me. Well first, they freak me out flat open. This whole scene for instance is fantastic. You know something horrendous is happening, and cannot sympathize with these people. Moreover, you don't even notice there is no dialogue at all. Great movie.

  • This basically describes Scientology.

  • @vigo894 and Christianity and Islam and...

  • She ( Jenny Agutter ) was holding a key .... the ankh ... they where all living in a New World Order pararel world created by a few that are still taking the place of Christ/gods (are antichrists) today. Check about Theosophy, and the Theosophy religious philosophy and mysticism and look at their emblem ... the think they have "higher knowledge"

  • The rapture theory giving by some today

  • A remarkable premonition of our future.

  • I saw this memorable movie at a Drive-In Theatre! Does anyone know anything at all about the Dallas Apparel Mart where a portion of this film was lensed? I did find some pics of it, and data that said it's been demolished. Dave Lounder, CT (Film Actor / Drive-In Theatre Historian)

  • This is so fucked !!!

  • I didnt remembet this scene at all...

  • One of the creepiest things i've seen on film ! Scary stuff bro

  • Watched this ages ago, and like so many other things, it is only a vague memory. But I do remember thinking it was a cool, but scary story.

  • @5jerry1 - If this is " renewal ", how in howling Hades do they explain it when the " renewees " don't return ? Maybe they have some kind of nebulous semi - religious answer.

  • I find this very kinky ...

  • great movie, cant wait for the remake. i hope they leave out the music

  • As I turn 30 today, I had to rewatch this scene...

  • @penguinpetal I hear you....I turned 30 this year as well....my life gem is CLEAR

  • @penguinpetal hope you were renwed ;

  • I had a dream I was in/on the Carousel, it freaked me out and recently came back to haunt me years later. yet I'm only 15

  • some craaazy shit man....watched it again t'other day.....brilliant

  • This is what serial killers see when they come.

  • *was*

  • In combo w/ the counter culture bohemian boomer culture that helped create those cults, during a time when conservative older people had seen terrible times of privation, the level of hysteria among the young must have seemed nuts to them, these young people had a lot compared to many generations. But then again, the Vietnam war with it's utter pointlessness and imperial goals deserved a strong counterculture.

  • This seems influenced by the f-ing crazy cults that went on in the 60s-70s but seem to now have gone underground, gotten better at avoiding press.

  • how is this haunting? im only 13, ive watched the film, and nothing.

  • @LeilaisCRAZY12 when he was 11, the understanding of social norms and politics and where our society is headed is far greater than that of today's kids. hence, this scene does nothing for you

  • @BlackHoleFileOrg spose so

  • Capricorn 15 was the last of such escapades before the old man said 'we-the-people'

  • love the movie hate the sound effects though the movie

  • I looked this up because of Family Guy.

  • @In4NuB: Yeah..same here. The "Brian Peeing Episode" was just on.

  • Linked here from Hooniverse. What the fuck just happened?

  • RENEW RENEW!!!!!!!!!

  • This was one of those moves made during that period filled with conservative sentiments against the counter-culture, here the don't trust anyone over 30 crowd, as being the neo-fascists the conservatives were back in the day, and returning today.

  • THERE IS NO SANCTUARY!!!!!!!!!

  • Holding up the left hand? some sort of Left Hand Path?

Holy shit, those people don't realize that those people are being vaporized out of existence.

  • Holding up the left hand? Left Hand Path?

Holy shit, those people don't realize that those people are being vaporized out of existence.

  • what is this show about it looks interesting

  • @birdclip188 ---It is an old 1970s science fiction movie where everyone who is 30 or older can't live anymore due to overpopulation . I think that they were told that they were to be born again or something like that.

  • @Wellch That is exactly the premise of the movie. I was told the book (I never read it) the age was 18.

  • @HVACSoldier

it was 21 in the book not 18

  • That beautiful white crystal on the ceiling is nothing more than a glorified bug zapper. The message of this scene is simple: Ask questions. Question authority. Otherwise, people get fed a lifetime of lies, and march willingly to death like lambs to a slaughter.

  • @elrond70 - I read where a remake is in the works for 2012 ( Starting filming or finished product ? The source wasn't too clear about that ). It's going to be truer to to the Clayton novel, where the expiration age w / 21 rather than 30. The City of Domes w / like some futuristic Rome where obedience is rewarded by hedonistic pleasure & no consequences, but the price of sheep - like obedience is a greatly reduced life - span.

  • a bunch of KKK members that forgot most of their outfit being killed by a giant crystal umbrella. thats all i see in this scene. and it pleases me

  • Looks like a Lady Gaga concert...

  • How can you not be traumatized seeing this particular scene as a kid and listening to that demented carnival like music?

  • I remember the logans run tv show in 1970's .

  • IT WOULD BE MOST INTERESTING TO HAVE A DEBATE WITH MICHAEL YORK IN HIS ROLE AS LOGAN 5

  • Excellent metaphor for religion--give up your life for the false hope of an afterlife.

  • This scene scared the crap out of me as a kid. Lol. My sister and I for years would randomly say 'Identify' to each other. x

  • I read the book, and wonder why they didnt actually follow the book's path....never made any sense why a computer that powerful couldnt handle contradiction. The film was good...but why'd the city explode? Ending could have been better.

  • horrifying idea.... good god.

  • People cheering for someone to get killed...remind you of something?

  • @iamhungey12345 soldiers in iraq? if so you make a good point, we cheer for their path to death in afganistan and iraq..... and for what, for opium worth of trillions $ , or for oil... a false religion in government .

  • @sivko23

Way to bring politics into it.

I way referring to the American civil war, you know the one where one of the battles have people having a picnic watching them killing each other?

I think that was Bull Run.

    Well that and the gladiators.

  • one of my all-time favs! Hope I die before I get old.......

  • one of my all-time favs!

  • Imagine if you were the only person that turned 30 that day. That would be really lonely.

  • That would be a shocking way to spend your final night on Earth. Being sacrificed on a death machine.

  • The audience members wouldn't be clapping and cheering if they knew some of them were next.

  • amazing old sci-fi movie

  • This movie says a lot about religion. People will believe anything if they are brought up in it.

    Great movie.

  • Still frightens me today, remember seeing this as a kid and it has haunted me ever since. I was young and did not understand what was happening but I knew these people were being sacrificed and it disturbed me why everyone was clapping and excited about it, I knew the people were dying. also the skeleton outfits. I guess it is true that some movies can have negative long term effects on the mind.

Very unique concept of the carousel though, imagination light years ahead. Beautiful.

  • @brittania1974 I actually think the the audience (the movie audience, that is) really believe that they were just being sent to the afterlife of theis pagan God. I don't think they would have been clapping if they knew they were actually being killed. LOL! If I lived in that city I would already be dead.

  • Double yoo tee eff?

  • yep cool movie still

  • Why not let the sequence finish?

  • Not a chance ! --- I'd be Carl Lewis'ing my ass off.

  • wasn't there a series made based off the movie?

  • @BillyCauseyjr Yes there was. It ran for one season on CBS. I was a bit disappoi nted.

  • You know, this is in the plans for our future. Hello? Save the planet? No more human life? You can cut down on Co2 emissions by being dead...i've read many mainstream articles actually suggesting this. Look em up for yourselves, I would rather not post. Anyway, you'll be hearing soon about the need to stop having kids and dying young, to save the planet, of course

  • ive got a game and a movie so you can set your mind to when i watched this film i got lost planet 2 and minority report for some reason

  • This is the NWO, Zeitgeist, Venus Project, Occult deception.

  • It's Like Cirque du Soleil in a disco Future

  • Two myths perpetuated in Logan's society, Renewal and Sanctuary

  • @Wolfspiderxl This is the NWO, Zeitgeist, Venus Project, Occult deception.

  • @fena1966 - yes notice the Venus Project cities all have a central circular building at the centre...

  • Poor Quality, but one of my favorite movie scenes ever!!!

  • one of the best moment in sci-fi cinema

  • I give the film a C- not bad, but not good

  • This movie really makes you think of what's to come if the government thinks population is getting out of control.......although this is better than Soylent Green!

  • People killed at 30 yrs old that's BLASPHEMY

  • what a way to die huh??? this is interesting and scary at the same time (for me anyway) and to think they thought they would be renewed. wrong this is just a fancy way to die

  • this is population control...

  • no none was renewed...renewal is a lie...

  • So very creepy, this bit. Loved this movie. And Micheal York - so handsome! :)

  • comments not related to the film will be deleted. thank you.

  • @trollsf picky picky picky

  • @trollsf fuck you, goddamn tit.

  • @trollsf nigger

  • @Trollingwithmyhomies Why Nigger? You are a Tea Bagger. Not all Republicans are racists but if your a racists your probably a republican.

  • @Trollingwithmyhomies I just watched you video and got sick. Your a gross woman.

  • @Trollingwithmyhomies I just watched you video and got sick. Your a gross woman. Thank god we don't have smellovision.

  • This scared me to death when I was a kid.

  • me too!

    Great name, btw.

  • I saw this movie in a theater when I was 11 years old. The images from this particular scene haunted my nightmares for years! Great movie!

  • Apparently back in the 70's parents didn't care about their children

  • They cared, they just didnt molly-coddle them and assume the worst about everything. I saw this in my youth and it was pure imagination.

  • I saw this movie when I was 10 at the Strand, same exact thing you said, I was haunted then too. Freaky scene for sure.

  • @mycommentuserid This is the NWO, Zeitgeist, Venus Project, Occult deception.

  • Amen to that!

  • to answer walterobz query both

  • only question is whats more likely, this or soylent green

  • I've often wondered... What did they use Carousel for before the city went nuts?

  • Logan's Run is a dystopian satire of religions that brainwash people into believing in an Afterlife.

  • no, Logan's Run was about a society that controlled population in numbers by having people accept sleep at the age of 21. There is never once in the book mention that there is an afterlife or brainwashing.

  • I think it was actually the dreaded age 30

  • in the book it was 21, the movie and the book are totally different, they just have a similar concept, but both end and run their course differently.

  • Comment removed

  • Sanctuary !!!

  • What a morbid scene

  • The sad thing is that you probably aren't kidding.

  • It's funny, I came here to this vid thinking the same thing!!!!!

  • logan wasent recycled and got the girl!!! great movie for those of us who have long memory *****

  • if this ever happens im a runner. i mean who would rather be disintergrated than shot.

p.s the flying bit must be fun though

  • haha

  • this film finished on ITV just NOW but i missed the first 20 minutes. Weird film, weird ritual.

How did they get Washington covered in plants, i take it they used models...

  • i started out feelin abiut freaked nd then the lycra leatards were unleashed lol its like an eric prydz video

  • What a crazy ritual at age 30.

  • I've said for a LONG time it's a shame this isn't a reality in our world. I honestly believe this should be a mandatory event. When we hit 30...renew. Such a shame this is not reality. ANd no, I am not kidding-I'm as serious as a heart attack about this.

  • O-kay... why don't you go ahead and commit suicide then? I mean, you're so sure about it, then you've got nothing to lose.

  • What, and miss watching your chance at renewal? :)

  • Lol I take it your not 30 yet

  • I'm 41

  • Way past your renewal time.

  • Exactly... Why would our world need stupid things like 'Wisdom' and 'Experience'.

P.S. I'm assuming you were drunk when you posted.

  • freaky

thats the only word i can find 2 describe this

  • RENEW!!!!!!!!!
