  • 5:20 It's actually Arnold the Pygmy Puff O_o

  • omg poor wanda...

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUU

  • I'm miss this show

  • I feel bad for wane and wonder since one thing or another always stops them. This is the second episode where it's wane's fault, if he's a boy.

  • Well, at least he didn't get heckled by Statler and Waldorf this time.

  • ben vereen sure could sing.

  • liar liar pants on fire ... I don't know whether to face palm or laugh

  • Harry is just crazy (hence the name).

  • The audience actually LIKED Gonzo this time!? Can you believe that?

  • Isn't this song Pure Imagination from Charlie and the chocolate factory??

  • @Adora2008 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

  • Once Ben started singing pure imagination and those groovy muppets came out, my sister and I lost it. :D Joy has never exploded in so much...joy. Jim Henson, my generation needs you :(

  • Chicken George

  • I looove This!!! It brings back so many good memories....childhood, innocent times...watching Muppet Show on the living room floor in my grandparent's house....Sweet *sigh*

  • Hat on box!

  • Interesting that they did Pure Imagination... pretty good version, actually. Rare for me, I can't tell if I prefer this or the Gene Wilder version.

And for those who are curious, This was done in 1972, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory came out in 1971, so it would have been a recent event for the viewers of this.

  • How do ya like that? All boxed in and the bear stills gets laughs.

  • Only the Muppets could cover and do credit to every song written ever.

  • This show was brilliant. I would love to have a show, like The Muppets, for my future children to grow up with.

  • @coley922 get the muppets

  • That dancing thin thing is weird and freaky and very creepy.........

  • Great version of Pure Imagination.

You gotta love the dancing marionette. That is some amazing puppetry right there.

  • I agree Jim Henson really brought a genius and life to the muppets

  • "I'll know when my love comes along, ayya ayya!"

    "Wayne?!" *grrrrrrrs*

  • did someone says dynamite??

  • "NOOO!!!" all

"You know I'm really getting tired of this."

  • "No!!!!" Heehehe

  • This and gene wilder's versions of pure imagination are just simply outstanding^^

  • This is my very favorite episode of The Muppet Show.

  • I agree. Ben just makes it come to life, even more so than usual.

  • I wish this show could come back. In fact, many shows like this need to come back.

What's wrong with TV today? Not a single show is able to appeal to all audiences. It's like the next Berlin Wall, seperating the youth and adult demographics.

To tell you the truth, I'm not even 18 and I hate every single show out there today.

I got the DVD from my folks as a gift, but they took me for some giant baby who watches puppet show.

That right there is what the networks have done.

  • @c3section i totally agree.

I never grew up with the Muppets much, but after watching this, i can completely feel what you're going through. Trust me i do. I have a few family-members who thinks that some shows/movies(most of them old-school beautiful Disney) are too childish for girls like me(i'm 19)

  • When Ben sang that last song,It made me feel...good,in love. I could seriously feel my heart pounding....

  • ben vereen rocks my socks

  • i dont like rocks in my socks its annoys me when i walk ^_^

  • Who did the voice of Hilda?

  • Thanks for uploading all these "Muppet SHow" Episodes... I have just one problem by now: their beginning song is stuck in my head and plays and plays and plays...

  • good to see I'm not the only one

  • i love that lil dancin thing

  • lala

  • thanks for posting. I looked this up because i had pure imagination stuck in my head, and this is how I first heard it, and it changed my life. Of course, i didn't remember all the psychedelic stuff...maybe that's why I did so much drugs in college...

  • lolllll, ben vereen is my uncles cousin

  • Did somebody say dynamite?

  • NOOOOOOO!!!!

  • This is my favorite song that is sung by a special guest on the Muppet Show

  • I love this song too, from the great Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The muppet show is such a wonderful show. Thanks for uploading.

  • crazy harry king arfpur princess gwendyon robotnik

  • haha thas Will's dad

  • hes brilliant singing mr cellophane

  • "Well, I thought the show was just... dynamite."

    "Did somebody say dynamite?"

    "NO!"

    (BOOM!)

LOL; note Ben's reaction as the credits role when he says to Crazy Harry "Get him off!"

  • Pure Imagination...that about sums the Muppets up. 8-)

  • @LunaMoth116 That and Humphrey Bogart's line from The Maltese Falcon, "The stuff that dreams are made of."

  • i love when that weird thing comes on and then they jazz up pure imagination!

  • "You say you want a big charge?"

    "NO!"

    LOL

  • love his apricot color pants...I had a pic of my uncle wearing that same out fit lol...

  • This is probably the only version of "Pure Imagination" I like...well, also when Sarah Jessica Parker sang it while violent and gory movie clips played behind her.

  • This is absolutely brilliant.

To LaDracul... the original is just as beautiful but I also suggest you seek out Sue Raney's version, which will literally make you cry!

  • When did that happen?

  • One of the MTV Movie Awards telecasts. :)

  • Did someone say "blast"? Hahahaha!

  • that was the best wayne and wanda ever

  • "Brilliant show!"

    "Fantastic show!"

"Btw, your pants are on fire."

  • Ben Vereen has a beautiful singing voice
