I just finished to read a novel by Carlos Fuentes, Diana the goddess who hunts alone, about a time when him and Jean Seberg were lovers. Too sad that this mexican writer loose the chance to save her life and soul. This tragedy probes one thing: that the american and the soviet regimes were the same toatlitarian bastards.

One of the most naturally beautiful and talented of actresses from the period. 'Breathless' will always be her defining moment. Her only crime was her openness and naivety which led to several men (directors and husbands alike) taking advantage of her good nature. Tragedy resonates so much more when it is with one so beautiful.

Jean Seburg's story is a true tragedy.

The FBI, in it's attempt to discredit her, spread rumours that she was pregnant with the child of a Black Panther. The stress of this caused her to deliver a stillborn white child. She lapsed into severe depression and ended up killing herself sometime thereafter.

She was such a beautiful woman, and icon. Hats off to her.
