  • Wow, the ignorant comments on here. Racing dogs are not shot if they're slow, they're donated to shelters and re-homed. Why would someone who has thousands of dollars invested in an animal kill it for being slow. That's retarded. Not to mention, The dogs are socialized with other dogs, otherwise they would be skittish or violent at the track. They sleep in kennels yes. Nice heated, clean kennels. Oh the humanity. Injuries happen, but that's with anything, the dog was born to run, let em.

  • Even if the dogs are treated as humanely as possible by track standards, one cannot avoid the fact that racing dogs are subject to frequent and sometimes severe injury (try falling down at 40+mph, or being trampled some time). In addition, dogs are HIGHLY social animals: racing hounds are not allowed to bond or socialize normally with people or other dogs. A greyhound sleeping alone in a cage is a sad hound.

  • Treatment of greyhounds within the racing industry is pitiful . . .greyhounds bred and kept for profit. It saddens me to see and hear about the shameful way these beautiful dogs are treated by humans. The racing industry exploits racing greyhounds and shows a blind indifference to the welfare of the dogs

  • Outstanding video highlighting how well greyhounds are treated and how much they love to race i really enjoyed watching that.

  • only if i could run that fast DAM

  • let only normal and civilian people participate in these races would be a more correct conduct than let that the funcion of these dogs is to sustain industries that are seeking only profit, people generally have dogs for love and company, and when they win these championships are worthy of a trophy on their shelf, which is what occurs with the dog shows

  • My rescued greyhound Pilot, sleeping beside me as I write, says, "You lie, human!".

  • Nice video; it's a shame that the person who made this video didn't take the time to tell the rest of the story regarding greyhound racing.

  • it was sad day when closed this place it had a good welfare record and I know lady who rehomed all walthamstow ex racers and who also help set up the retired Greyhound trust Johanna Beumer MBE

she got her MBE in 2008 for her work with greyounds she re-home over 4000 dogs

greyhounds make great pet re home one Johanna is always looking for home for

theses lovely dogs check out wittingham kennels near waltham Addey or the retiredgreyhounds.co.uk who give you more info and centres near you

  • Yeah, they are happy and proud...until they are put in their tiny little crammed kennels, and then shot in the FRICKIN HEAD!

  • Great job.....Man's Best Friend!

  • o my god i cant believe what you just said brockvillechloe, i work for greyhoundsrescue and i do say that you animals should let this dogs be the wonderfull pet that they are. don t kill them because there crime was to slow, 72 greyhound shot through the head!!! does this mean spoiling to you??? very very small minority??? we have more than 20 greys a month that come to belgium for adoption. thousents of others are sold to university's and other beasts that mistread this great dogs. drop dead

  • rayzola: 1. Learn to spell.

    2. Not all racing dog owners mistreat their animals! You people absolutely *refuse* to believe otherwise, it's like saying everyone who owns pitts fights them! Also ridiculous! True, there are some unworthy individuals racing dogs, but don't condemn the entire sport because of a few idiots. These dogs love to run, and don't condemn the people that truly care about their animals.

  • Omboth, it's totally irrelevant whether there are good people in greyhound racing, or not. I used to have a greyhound trainers licence and became very aware of the abuse committed on the greyhound. I spoke out and became a thorn in the side of the NGRC.

  • Omboth, The slime and the low-life within the sport were protected by the club, in case it brought greyhound racing into disrepute. Their collective I.Q. being as it was, made them completely unaware that by doing so they heaped even more shame on themselves.

People who treat their dog's well should be the norm, and not as a yardstick how the greyhound as a whole is treated.

  • re: rayzola's spelling....Omboth, how good is your French and Dutch??

Many dogs love to run but not on tracks with bends too tight to negotiate for the high speeds at which they are running resulting in horrendous injury and pain.

If you HAVE to bet, go bet on tomorrows weather then no-one and nothing will suffer or die for your greed!

The barman in this clip wasn't blessed with an over abundance of brain cells either..max two word sentence!!

  • good videoi go racing at hall green dog track

  • Banracing your a f***ing clown do something constructive with your time you low life....You dont have a clue about dogs so piss off and save the whales or trees or something....Dick head

  • Great video you know the truth mate these dogs are spoilt not mistreated. There are a very very small minority that brings the sport down.
