  • Seriously, never do that on a telecaster

  • GOD that's so fake

  • so did vai do the entire solo?

  • hard to imagine anyone other than Vai for this part

  • u r so fuckin stupid steve vai doesnt play ry cooder does fuckin retard he is like a back ground musicanist

  • perhaps if ralph macchio would have faced SHAWN LANE...he would have lost!! lol

  • this called 'Eugene's Trick Bag' by Steve Vai & the Classical Piece it's based on is Niccolo Paganini's Capriccio No. 5; It was Originally done on Violin, & I have been playing this on electric guitar for over 10-Years, & the reason I learned to do it between 1998 & 2000 was cuz my dad (who also plays guitar & has since age 10) had a VHS copy of this since like 1989 & I grew up watching this movie with him & He said It would be impossible to learn to play it, so I did just to prove him wrong

  • check out Marcel koenen !!!

  • moonlight sonata

  • Gear?? Presets?? Of both guitars. Anyone??

  • via playin' the old charvel. sweet

  • FULL ON NEOCLASSICAL SHREDFEST

  • dude i swear, THIS should've been the last duel in GH3 LOL!

  • Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That Tekecaster sounds great

  • steve via looks so fucking evil

  • Getitiright: Steve V-A-I. :P People posting saying via makes it look like they're dyslexic same as ol' scratch hisself.

  • eugenes trick bag hell yes

  • wath a fuck......is amazing!!!!

  • steve via does all the music anyhow in this film..

  • i may be wrong but im pretty sure ry cooder did all the slide guitar work on this film

  • he did the slide solo thing aye

  • No pikeybot Ry Codder does the most music of the film . It stand in the movie Music by Ry Codder but. But now is it steve vai

  • tek kelimeyle müthiş + harika

  • i think he should stick to the karate lol

  • it looks like a Jackson DXMG, but im not sure

  • does anyone know what guitar Vai is using?

  • i just love vais reaction at 1:18. he just thinking okay kid. im gunna take you to school

  • it's impossible to take out that note, or someone could teach me how to?

  • *sigh* i love that so much. o.o

    .. i just broke a string too.

  • DAMN! i just broke a string trying to hit that last note

  • They should remake this move.

  • I think the hardest acting part for Vai was the part where he tried to screw up on the guitar :P

  • what songs name?

  • eugene's trick bag

  • Paganini's 5th caprice in A minor

  • Um, Definatly Steve V. He is a very accomplished Classical Guitarist. When I was in guitar lessons in 1980-what. When I saw him do this among others like Satriani and Malmstten. I knew right away I would make a good drummer. Ha ha. Seriously though. I changed to drums and have been playin for 26 yrs. I am once again tryin to learn guit. Stevie V is the man. But he also consulted on this movie.

  • who gives a crap if this person did/didn't do this and that person did/didn't do that for real etc... blah blah blah, what's wrong wi u guys!? constant whining like a bunch of mutinous sluts - just bloody fucking enjoy the scene for crying out loud!

  • vai played it all

  • This was Via & Ryland Cooder on Slide Guitar

  • steve via owns and would kick the karate kids ass

  • never mind, steve vai isn't dragonforce. i am So stupid - was thinking of a completly different person. Vai would still chop down Macchio's guitar skills.

  • cause he is faking it. that is steve vai - known to most as the most amazingly skilled guitar player ever. He plays in dragonforce. Karate Kid's karate is no match for Steve Vai's kung fu!

  • dragonforce? ROFLMAO

  • please please go and think about what you said there lol

  • Why do I feel that the Karate Kid is faking it and if this was real life he would epically fail?

  • ry cooder was the one who played ralph macchio's parts

  • it accualy is steve via playing both parts

  • Srry for askin but wut movie is dis?

  • crossroads

  • hey people, can any1 tell me who the other dude os please? not steve vai obviously the other dude, the last solo he does is funking awesome !!!

  • ralph machio

  • Incorrect, Maccio mimed the while bit. Steve Vai did the rock parts while Ry Cooter 9Great blues guitarist) did the other parts that Ralph mimed (saved for the classical bit, done by Vai, which is a pain in the ass to play!)

  • did steve vai play himself in this movie? he would have been able to do that easy

  • Steve Vai cant play like that i real time, he uses multi tracks to fool your idiots., especially the karate kido.

i can blow you and Vai out of the water with a wink!

  • dude ive seen vai live and he is really bad ass

  • yeah me too, he gets naked and likes boys as well., wo did you get to suck his little lolypop now DARKDUDI RON whatever you are

  • shut the fuck up you sad jelous piece of shit

  • jelous? me ? haha ha ha ha, you loser, Steve slinky Vai gets his arse kicked here so bad by Ry Cooder it aint a joke any more, haha, you can lick his arse all day, he will still fart em out.

  • I personally dislike steve vai but he could have played that no problem he is an amazing gutiarist

  • Steve DID play it ... he did all the guitar parts for the movie, including Ralph's.

  • no he didnt. ry cooder played ralph macchios guitar parts in the movie

  • thats my point

well except the dont like him part

    i think hes great

  • i would own vai in a duel... well if both his arms were cut off and he was blind

  • Can't spell his name, but Steve vai is steve Vai, the karate kid is played by Rai couter

  • i don't recommend guitar duel him....

  • e aaaaaaaaaamo esse solo e esse filme, acho q todo guitarrista deveria ter esse filme em sua coleção, pois é um épico do cenário blues man...

  • yes it's quite obvious the kid wasn't playing it, but well acted.

  • way cool.Berkley was good for this guy.

  • actualy ur wrong ry cooder played all th slide guitar and steve vai played eugenes trick bag at the end

  • It was Ry Cooder for the kid and Steve actually played for himself in the movie. Get it RIGHT B)

  • i love this solo!! fuckin amazing melodys!!

  • Ok I confess it was me playing that for both Steve and Ralph..

  • Lightning Boy kicks ass!!!

  • this clip be a half step higher than the original version

  • One of the coolest movies in the 80's!

  • i think after this im off to "buy" some steve vai in "mexico" ...

  • best fake guitarist ever!!! looked convincing, but any guitar player could tell he was a fake

  • lol yeah it's pretty obvious to the trained eye

  • probably must have been hard for steve vai to mess up.

  • yeah. in an interview steve said the first take he did they told him he didn't lose bad enough so he had to redo it. lol.

  • they should put this on guitar hero...lol

  • Fantastic, I have tried to find a copy of this film for my other half for ages. This has got to be our altime fav!!!!

  • how can u not give steve vai props. he was fn bad

  • f steve via

  • just the blues part was cooder. all the rest was steve vai

  • it was actually ry cooder

  • hey man whats the steve ray guitar name this one of the great solo pleas ewhat guitar is that one?
