Bumble's solo at Rock Am Ring in 2006 should have been THE solo at the end, not Slash. It's all subjective, but personally, I think the Rock Am Ring 2006 Nightrain is the greatest GNR Nightrain performance ever.

@heihei2300, Boston, 2002 was one of the 4GNR shows I've been to live, and yes, that show was totally killer! The only reason I give Nightrain Rock Am Ring the edge in quality is due to Axl's voice. Axl's 2002 voice...for some reason, he was keeping it higher throughout. IMO, it helped certain songs, but hurt others. By '06 he was getting back to the rasp, mixed in with the high, where as in '02 it just seemed to be consistently high. Live n Let die screams were easily the best in '02. ;)
@heihei2300, yeah, the cleaner voice worked on some songs, but I am so pumped to hear a classic Axl voice again. The man's not human...just amazing. I can't wait for my 5th show...the next great moment for me will be actually hearing This I Love in person. 5:08... that solo execution in Argentina is one of the greatest I ever saw from Slash, he may not be the most technical or the fastest player I've seen, but his feeling, and that blues/rock sound that he manage to get is always awesome! I wish I could see all original GNR again playing those songs... Izzy included.

I actually like Axl's 2006 voice better for Nightrain than his older one. He still has a raspy voice but adds something that I cant put my finger on. And all the people bitching about Nu GnR, it's been 15 years...let it go. Chinese Democracy was MUCH better than anything that Velvet Revolver can dream of. If VR is an indication of how good of a musician Slash is, it's not looking to good. But i'll wait till his solo album comes out before I can officially judge.

The new gnr virtuosos (BH and BBF) really rejuvinated this song and gave it a new set of balls with their infinately better renditions of the solos...

The music is different in the post 2000 versions! That just ruined the song for me permanently. At least Slash did a fine job fucking up Paradise City with Fergie and Cypress Hill (still I like the original version best)

Bumble's solo at Rock Am Ring in 2006 should have been THE solo at the end, not Slash. It's all subjective, but personally, I think the Rock Am Ring 2006 Nightrain is the greatest GNR Nightrain performance ever.

@heihei2300, Boston, 2002 was one of the 4GNR shows I've been to live, and yes, that show was totally killer! The only reason I give Nightrain Rock Am Ring the edge in quality is due to Axl's voice. Axl's 2002 voice...for some reason, he was keeping it higher throughout. IMO, it helped certain songs, but hurt others. By '06 he was getting back to the rasp, mixed in with the high, where as in '02 it just seemed to be consistently high. Live n Let die screams were easily the best in '02. ;)

I can't wait for my 5th show...the next great moment for me will be actually hearing This I Love in person. 5:08... that solo execution in Argentina is one of the greatest I ever saw from Slash, he may not be the most technical or the fastest player I've seen, but his feeling, and that blues/rock sound that he manage to get is always awesome! I actually like Axl's 2006 voice better for Nightrain than his older one. He still has a raspy voice but adds something that I cant put my finger on. And all the people bitching about Nu GnR, it's been 15 years...let it go. Chinese Democracy was MUCH better than anything that Velvet Revolver can dream of. If VR is an indication of how good of a musician Slash is, it's not looking to good. But i'll wait till his solo album comes out before I can officially judge.

Yea Snake pit was much better than VR, but still not as good as CD era Guns. I dont think Slash lost his touch, just that he changed his attitude toward music and became a sell out. I almost love my love for the original, yeah he totally did change his attitude too. When he was doing drugs and drink, like his mind was so alert and alive with all the sounds around him, he composed really good music... I don't want people to take it the wrong way though. You don't need material substances to make music, but that's how it seems with Slash

The new gnr virtuosos (BH and BBF) really rejuvinated this song and gave it a new set of balls with their infinately better renditions of the solos...

how bout u both STFU? look, wikkipedia isnt exactly reliable, so far, Slashs' autobiography is pretty much the most reliable cos it was written by him and it does clearly states that he join AFTER Duff, not interviewed or anything by Slash himself, i mean, how can he if Slash join AFTER Duff?...but does it matter? their car was there friend marc canters, he took it back then they hitched a ride with a truck driver and they only had there acoustics and thats when slash wrote the riff to paradise city, and they only played 1 gig because they fell so far behind schedule. At this one show the guy tried to ripp them off and they all almost beat his ass and took his money but he gave them like 100 bucks or something. DONT FUCK WITH ME BITCH.

Yeah so, I'm never going to meet him, you make it sound as though everyone else has. And no I havent been following him because as soon as GNR broke up he just sort of faded away. I'm not interested in just Axl because quite frankly it isnt GNR anymore, its just the Axl Rose band. So theres why I don't care about the CD. And obviously you are tone deaf because if you listen there is a definite change in his voice, though the fundamental sound is still there.
