@Sheviera Really? So tell me this, what in the world would make anyone want to track you? As if they can't do that already with your cell phone. They can "already" trace your calls, not only your location but voice record for no reason whatsoever. Why would they magically want to add a chip to your nike's or clothing you buy? Like someone else said on here your phone already tracks you when it's off. RFID is a technology that supply chains and retail industries would only benefit from
the question is are they active or passive rfid's actives have a power source. and are large passive do not. they can only transmit when a rfid scanning device is applied. active rf id's are commonly used in toll tags passive are used in you credit card or key fobs for work or for push button start cars. no way are they going to be able to use active in a grocery store for products it's too expensive.
Spychips is a great book. The police state is here, and it's all about money. GRR. They can scan you from a distance in your car. It's insane. But Albrecht is fighting it. See her websites.

Knowing about RFID has NOTHING to do with 'NEWS'. Knowledge specifically deals in understanding the actual technology & manufacturing process. Then intelligent comments can be made that are factual. RFID is a technology that in its worst will invade privacy we already lost. In a passport, drivers license etc. Not designed to replace the information or your photo. It is there with a number to validate the Passor DL. So what? A phone tracks you even when OFF! Scared of being tracked? Dump phone?
strolchi is willfully misinformed. Your comments are not remotely based upon fact. Pure speculation above and beyond the purposeful design of the technology. Purely speculating upon what the technology is NOT designed to do. Why speculate about RFID people tracking when all those who own cell phones consent to being tracked today. You own a cell phone? Hitler misinformed society in the same way people are mislead about RFID propaganda designed to mislead the public.
I can not fell you are a credible source as they say: If youre paycheck depends on not knowing the truth its hard to get you admitting it! Lets say you would know about certain danger of any technology but you are invested with 1 Mil USD and the technique + youre Million would go down by you admitting to it chances are you would hide it,
to not lose youre investment! Like a salesman wouldnt tell you: you know next door they sell the same stuff cheaper then I do! Cached my drift?
A teacher will arrive when the student is ready - not the other way arround. Just keep researching on your own and dont allow your emotions to blind you.
Think about about what you are saying. They (aduana) have your passport in hand with your PHOTO. So how is it that the RFID tag is 'bad' in that environment? It hold less info than the passport itself. Its a passive tag (can't be read further that a foot away) and only holds a 'number'. The number validates that the passport is real and not falsificated. How do I know? We manufacture many of the RFID tags in those passports.
@QuesoChino Anyway I am still open enough to look at any information you are directing me to! The sell phone example is a very god one by the way, and you are right plus all the electronic cash witch leaves a data trace what ever you do and people are not enough a wear of that! There actually many criminal cases around the world by people getting effected by the danger of this and what evil people can do with your data! You know a knife is not maid to kill but it can be used for it!
@QuesoChino Last but not least I dont think we need that crap we lived without it before and we can live without it now! Sorry to say I know if my position wins its bad for youre financial outlook from your premier RFID patent but you might find a other purpose in live and do something people really need!
Nay - I dont need my patents to $ survive. I get involved with - what I believe in and if I truly think it will do my soul good - I develop business around it.
I dont like the Idea of a completely controlled society even assuming that those at the other side of the wire use it responsible now! How can I be sure it will not fall in to the wrong hands later! This technique absolutely must be stopped! My Grandparents suffered Hitler imagin all data fall in to the hand of a person like him! How can I be sure that it can never happen again that some type of Tyrant system gets somehow to power having all this data of people at hand scary - I think
@QuesoChino How do you know that? How do you know fore sure you have been told the truth about all the possibilities this technology brings with it! Did you really for 100 percent with no doubt left checked it out yourself (dont answer me answer yourself)! How can you make sure this Technique will never be misused once installed its a quite Powerful tool in the hands of bad people simply imagine Hitler would have had this possibility ore the east German STASI!
I never said pigs could never fly, but certain understanding is gained with knowledge and why spend time alerting others that 100lb hogs may soon be floating overhead and endangering our children? Strolchi - I dont rely on inaccurate 'information" or 'what people say' as you do. In owning the premier RFID patents and managing one of the select RFID R&D departments in the world I gain accurate facts rather than ignorance spread by the paranoid. I believe my info is more factual than yours?
@Queso Well I am not convinced by you claiming you know better, you can say this so I have to relay on my own research well I gladly except you to direct me to some info from youre point of view! Also by you saying you owning the premier RFID patents, tells me you have a personal financial interest to defend this technique so you are no independent source when it comes to discuss the god and bad about RFID! For now I stay with my view that this technique holds potential danger!
@QuesoChino By the way I dont know if you know that its a fact some countrys using RFID in there passports! And dont try to fool me her I Know it for certain because the government in Germany (where I come from) is demanding it to be in the new Passports they stated it Public its on the record so dont try to deny! It all happens under the pretext of The War on Terror they say its for higher security! Jet hackers proofed they can break in to it! Thats why its on hold for now!
@blueyejim How do you know its disabled are you able to check and make sure it is 100 percent deactivated maybe they only switch of the alarm function in the chip so you can walk out but how do you know its actually destroyed completely and will be therefore untraceable!
Do you really know by research and checking it ore you are simply assuming it (be honest to yourself)
@blueyeji Ok fair enough (i only have youre word) you never know once everyone is used to have this stuff around they might come up with a nice reason to dont switch it completely of or might just secretly dont switch it of! Also youre claim dose not make sense to much because there is much simpler technique then RFID witch can realise a alarm system you dont need a unique number for every item to make that possible I simply dont like this technique and it potential dangers at all!
@strolchi10 Yes, the chip is not usable after it passes through the register. We are required to test the system every day.
I believe in anti theft, which is what this system promotes. However, I do not agree to companies tracking my purchases. This argument should be targeted at marketing companies.
@blueyejim Also I see the potential danger it might not bee done now but as you know humans are at sleep most off the time so on one point in the future when everyone is used to it they might stop switching it of or might find good reasons to not to like the intelligent fridge! Also its interesting can it be reactivated or the number found on it afterwards with any kind of Technique lets say a item was involved in a crime scene can investigators retrieve the Id from the chip?
Target probably would do this too... Why in the world would checkpoint be so common. Sensormatic is SO much better.

This Technique holds a incredible potential Danger in so many point of views!
The danger is greater then the benefit I think therefore we must reject it completely!
Pleas everyone boycott any market supporting this system.

The chip is disabled after the item is purchased.
The system actually helps lower prices by preventing theft.

strolchi10 2 years ago
@strolchi10 I have done extensive research on this topic. I have also use the system many times as a retail employee.
The chip is only used to alarm security pedestals during theft.
Market research companies are what you should be worried about. They put spy-ware on your computer and track your credit card usage.
