This takes incredible skill to pull off. The closest I got to completing this was rank 25-26 (Captain of Carnage) and I was damn proud I even did that !
man that was my last platinum medal to get too!! I remember how long that took to finally get... but wow one of the most satisfying video game achievements I have gotten up to date!
I remember playing this game about 7 years ago trying to get all platinum medals because a friend told me it had never been done. Eventually the controller was thrown through a picture on the wall and I trashed a dorm room.
In the 21 normal carrier levels, you have to 1. Free all Survivors, 2. Activate all RDU's, and 3. Destroy all buildings. You get a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal for having completed one, two or three of these objectives, respectively. There is no platinum, so 57 is the maximum number of platinum medals you can get.
When I was a kid I think I had mostly all platinum... Cant remember.. D: If it were today, I probably would have stopped at the game endinging =p I'm not that into getting 100% anymore, with the exception being Matroid Prime1 through 3, but those are easy and it drove me because it added lore, which is pretty much all I care about nowadays... A good story.
Amazing! I remember playing this game when it first came out and after several grueling months I finally got all platinum medals. Definately one of the harder games to get 100% on.
The worst one for me was that pac-man-like stage because of all the variability of the enemie paths and all those friggin lights. It was in that hexagonal area.
@Mahrla Dude that sucks. I cannot touch your skill in this game. If i went back and dedicated my existence to doing what you did, i would probably die first. Amazing achievement though man
Rare said, that reaching the Platin medals does have a high difficulty level- and that's their limit. They made this game as hard as possible. It's so hard, that they couldn't make it harder.
It took me a few days to get everything in this game. In my opinion reaching every goal and beat Perfect Dark for the N64 with 100% is probably the hardest Rare game besides Blast Corps.
is how I create pactruck the only thing I miss

A Herculean feat indeed. I would have never had the patience to get all of those. It was enough for me just to get all Gold medals. =D

wow... after I`ve seen your blast corps videos, I started to play it again.
getting all gold medals was not as hard, as I thought, but now the platinum challenge... too much for me, I guess.^^
I only got 7 so far... it is really hard...

How can you have 4 ''savegames''?
Hybrid4567 3 years ago
You need a Memory Card (or a N64 Controller Pak, how it was called back in these days).

Back in 1998 or 1999 I got all the platinums as well... I think it took me more than 3 months... much hard gaming...

I was so glad when I found Perfect Dark. It was one of a few original version here in germany. I loved this game and completed it (100%).
I wish I had a cam to film TV screens.

Yepp, all Rare games were hard to complete 100%.
Especially GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Blast Corps.
Have you also tried to get some highscores in blast corps?
