Jim Gilmore was in from 98 to 02, he fucked up the budget so bad with pretend fiscal responsibility that a democrat (Warner) had to come in and balance the budget. You know its sad when a democrat is leading by 20-30 points in Virginia in the race for governor. Republican fiscal responsibility is a myth.

Most of these sponsers that Virgil Goode "took" money from are some of the 5th districts largest employers, ex. Abbott, McDermott International (my place of employment) and Wachovia, Northop Gumman which is important for the whole state and so on. These places have created many jobs for the 5th. district, which is one of the most needed things in this area.

Is he running on a platform of killing jobs in Roanoke, Greensboro, and Winston Salem. Good Jobs that many in the 5th District commute to for good pay.
