Court level is good only for seekers. For majority who just want to watch, the regular view is good. Court level is any way available but not broadcasted primarily. Only in replays
action cam is sweet for people who play the game and can follow it at this pace but if someone is not a player and is just givin it a try on tv this angle definitely is too fast for them. I love this angle though.
I like court level camera. It's like you are playing and you can really see how fast the ball is moving, the technique of the player. It's much more dynamic. I wonder why they don't use it more frequently.
I already told you why the action camera is not used as a main cam., jivkoss. maybe for you is not a problem, but most of the viewers get dizzied, because of the dynamic of that "action cam"
Well, with Federer, you can appreciate al lthe slight variation of his play and all this diversification that makes him so special. You can even clearly see how he behaves, how he moves around the court.
It is surely a very special angle to watch him play.
But the problem stands where there are lesser spectacular player which is the case
of many of these ATP pros. Then, when they change side, you have to wtach Federer from far away...
yea i like it like this but only if i wanna see that person more. like in this case, yea i rather see fed than blake. but imagine if fed was on the otherside, and someone u hated was on the close side.
I agree with you, especially if it's about WTA matches ; )
I like this angle because it is good for taking a closer look at the footwork. Also, it provides a much better feeling for the speed the pros are working with. The way it was done at this year's US Open was perfect. On the main courts there were always a few rallys broadcasted from this view. And Del Potro's forehand winners... Simply amazing.
at 1:12 where Blake hits the return to Fed's feet and Fed picks the ball up on the rise, that is a really hard shot, good coordination and fast reflexes......He's the King
Yea, very well played by Fed. Didnt notice it till you mentioned it, but yea, this are annoying to get, and for Fed to return it the way he did, golden
Not entirely correct DylanMakesNoise. Fed's forehand technique is ANYTHING but a "classic" forehand. He uses close to a classic grip but his swing path is very horizontal. Look up some videos between him and nadal, they have very similar forehands if you look at it in slow motion (minus the reverse finish on some of nadal's forehands)
actually, that's incorrect. Most of his shots nowaday are flat but his old ones were "windshield" and had more spin on them. search "federer groundstorkes" (yes the vid title is misspelled) and you'll see that his follow through was much different.(04-05)
Most of his shots nowaday are flat but his old ones were "windshield" and had more spin on them. search "federer groundstorkes" (yes the vid title is misspelled) and you'll see
I believe the ones who commented on your question were talking about his current forehand, which is not as good IMO.
not trying to get into debate, so I'm just offering my opinion so just take it as such. Federer has a bunch of follow throughs depending on what type of shot hes going for including angle etc. He still has a massive amount of spin which is why even his forehand today, which I agree is not as good, he can still create those angles. A typical "windshield" you'll see with players who hit with a slightly bent arm. The guys who hit with a straight arm verasco and fed have a more horizontal
Please search in youtube "federer storkes" and then watch FYB's vids of him hitting or even mattches now. I'm just saying that he used to brush up the ball more. He has flattened out and several tennis magazine articles have said so.
he's doing the most impossible shots from the most impossible angles. I wouldn't expect Mr. F to be able to return a lot of the shots here in this video, but he did. Amazing...
Hmm, why does he sometimes finish shoulder high, and sometimes at waist high? Whenever I try to finish low, I always screw up, but why does he do that?
Depends on your footwork and type of shot. Finish high ball bounce close or you're either going for a lot of spin. Finish waist ball is good distance away and you come in or just a normal flat/top spin shot etc.
this is the way to watch tennis, you can get a feel for how fast the ball is, and you never lose track of the ball in fast play on the low quality youtube videos
I remember this match..quite dramatic for blake, when he got a donut in the second set,he had to dig deep within to fight back in the 3rd set..fed was giving a lesson at times..
wtf, people who are putting negatives for poo poo's comments, it's his fucking opinion, why the hell waste your time saying it's negative? Besides it's a OPINION. Is it going to affect your friggin life? nope.
their ball goes very fast.. the tv vision doesnt capture speed or height... thats why they have to anticipate so much, cause the ball takes between 0.3 and 0.4 seconds to reach the other side of the court
it doesnt go that fast ^_^... actaully it takes almost exactly a second (on average) before the person on the other side hits it. Which means you have actaully got 1 second to hit the ball.. you don't have to anticipate and you can still easily get there unless they hit the ball into a corner, THEN, you have to anticipate... but really, the shots arnt to hard to get too..
people givin ya low hands down on this but ur right for the most part. gamespeed is fast but if your use to it, its not that bad. its a reaction type of play.. the thing with pros is consistency and placement, spin along with power.like ya mentioned pros can place balls in insane spots and moving to get to those balls can be tricky--then if ya do get to them and have a bad return they'll hit a winner.
You're thinking about the serve buddy. Even serve isn't that short of time, though it's not too far off. You need to know where the ball is going in under or in about that much time, or else you got aced. At least on the pro level, or maybe even open level. Not 100% sure about open level.
Even though I LOVE this view, I don't think the tennis broadcasters use this as the regular tennis vision because it isn't a fan with the non-tennis-obsessors like myself.
wow wtf, it really does look like table tennis , like the ball just flies so fast with no effort and such beautiful topspin...my rallies seem so much, DIFFERNET i dont no, its weird watching this the ball just looks so light lol
damn this is a-ma-zing. Matches broadcasted on tv could do well with this view. Seeing the match 50% of the time like this and the other half the old way wouldn't bother me!
He actually isn't. He never used a paintjob. I've seen his real racket, it's a complete customization, not a paintjob. A paintjob is an old racket painted over. The paintjobs didn't even match between his racket and the stock one.
The current [K]Six.One Tour is made after Federer's racket's customizations. However, I do not know what weight customizations he has. But from what I've seen, it is the exact same as the [K]Six.One Tour. And he does seem to play better with his ProStaff Tour 90.
... You people who keep thinking these people's comments don't matter, you know what, YOU DON'T MATTER, so stop saying their comments are spam, I mean seriously, why would you anyway?? They're just comments, not insulting your mom or anything...
they must have filmed this match at court level at some point and shown it on tv, cuz the scoreboard is there. they usually don't do court level though, but apparently it must be out there somewhere. anyone have the full match or highlights?
if only blake came in on the last point, that was a easy put away...
this is one of the reason why fed owns so much, these days, there r so many baseliners that doesnt know when to come to the net, nadal and other new comers r learning quickly ^^ gasqeut, murray, even nadal has improved on that heaps over the years
absolutely! i see this with davydenko constantly, he sets up a great point with his groundstrokes, and he has an approach shot ball, but he doesnt come in on it, and the rally continues for even longer! often his opponent will get back to even footing, forcing him to hit outright winners from the baseline
you are an idiot... its almost impossible to appreciate the level of tennis because the camera does not capture how hard they are hitting.. that level of hitting isn't something you can acquire of after "a couple more years of hitting". it's a accumulation of intense, structured, life long dedication. seriously, the only thing you have acomplished is demeaning the sport
calm down man. i played about 4 hours a day with my dad for this whole summer, and i improved so much! if in those "couple years" you are working really hard, then you can certaintly improve a tremendous amount. but, you're right, the cameras can never capture certain aspects of play, like speed or distance, but i still like this view better than the other one
lol really, they dont hit THAT HARD, from about 100-140kms is the average groundstroke :) men or women... and its really not that fast, when you it come to you in real life it looks fast, and u have little time to react, but ur still like "THATS FAST, but not THAT FAST"... cause the ball slows down so much on the bounce :) besides hitting that hard doesnt take much strength, its just all about hitting at full extension with a long fluid CONFIDENT NATURAL stroke.
It doesn't take much strength, I've watched pros and if u read carrefully, I've played pros, like I said in real life its not that fast. :) Besides what do you mean? How is it going to change my mind if I saw how a pros hit (which ofcourse I have already), justine henin at 5foot and 6 inches with half the muscle compared to me and yet she serves 190km/ph which is faster than almost all of the other girls in the ATP tour. :) Are you trying to say to me that they are srong, or that is is so fast?
which pros have you played? I call bullshit because I play college ball and just the fact that you're comparing men and women shows you know little about the sport
Screw you, sorry... LOL... But i am not bullshitting, Nicole Pratt ROFL... I know shes not the best but I can imagine how Federer plays too. Men and women are pretty similar I don't know what your talking about, other than the service speed the groundstrokes arent too different. Whatever you think is up to I suppose so, blah
Men hit on average 10-20 mph (on groundstrokes and serve) harder than women as well as being able to put far more spin on the ball. Playing Nicole Pratt does not give you any indication of how hard these top 50 men can hit or how difficult even their groundstrokes are return. You are delusional.
I can easily hit forehands and backhands over 120km/ph in real rallies when I play and it doesn't take much effort. If you seriously had to do weights and be super strong and use tons of effort than why can such small weak women hit 120km/ph+ on an average shot, and its not like they try that hard, if they did then they would probably rotate their body like 270 degrees like a retarded teenager trying to hit as hard as he can. You know nothing im right now shoosh.
i don't know why your stating henin, she's is a rare exception in the strength department. She still can't hang powerwise with almost anyone on wta tour. i'm not much bigger than henin and i've had to hit the weights to even come close to those speeds on a consistent basis. if you can't admit tennis doesn't take a good amount of strength.... well than i'll just think it's really sad
Tennis actually doesn't take that much real strength. It doesn't take strength to swing a racket really quickly, it takes practice. Look at many pros when they start, especially Sampras. They are tall sticks with quick arms. Later on they bulk up to add a little more weight to their shot, not adding extra MPHs. The most muscular part of their body when they start on tour are the legs and core.
However, saying their shots are not that fast is relative. As you get better, they SEEM slower.
pro-am's can hit hard too, but dont be psyched out playing pros. playing a pro its not the speed factor-its keeping up with consistency (if ur in good athletic tennis player shape, youll be quick enough) the difference between a pro and awesome club player is usually the consistency of all strokes.. Serves, forehand, bh, volleys, smashes. for instance a pro can usually hit a serve out wide in their sleep along with easily commanding directional placement on soft or underhit shots to their favor.
i love seeing the vids that people have filmed on their own camcorders because i feel like it gives you a better sense of what the players are really doing. i agree with bicolbandit.
I wholeheartedly agree. A lot of people don't realize the kind of things the pros are doing to the ball. This view definitely shows off the player's talents.
court level is the best. you can see all the spins. made me realize how much faster their game is than when viewed from above. future vids should be done like this =)

i did not so a coule more years of hitting i said a few more yrs i.e from a 4 yr old a few more years til hes 20 with coaching and i am talented..
kamalgilkesk 4 years ago
calm down man. i played about 4 hours a day with my dad for this whole summer, and i improved so much! if in those "couple years" you are working really hard, then you can certaintly improve a tremendous amount. but, you're right, the cameras can never capture certain aspects of play, like speed or distance, but i still like this view better than the other one

lol really, they dont hit THAT HARD, from about 100-140kms is the average groundstroke :) men or women... and its really not that fast, when you it come to you in real life it looks fast, and u have little time to react, but ur still like "THATS FAST, but not THAT FAST"... cause the ball slows down so much on the bounce :) besides hitting that hard doesnt take much strength, its just all about hitting at full extension with a long fluid CONFIDENT NATURAL stroke.
Sopez1 4 years ago
doesn't take much strength lol
go watch the pros, or even a div1 school and see if you can make that claim again
bigr0g 4 years ago
It doesn't take much strength, I've watched pros and if u read carrefully, I've played pros, like I said in real life its not that fast. :) Besides what do you mean? How is it going to change my mind if I saw how a pros hit (which ofcourse I have already), justine henin at 5foot and 6 inches with half the muscle compared to me and yet she serves 190km/ph which is faster than almost all of the other girls in the ATP tour. :) Are you trying to say to me that they are srong, or that is is so fast?
Sopez1 4 years ago
which pros have you played? I call bullshit because I play college ball and just the fact that you're comparing men and women shows you know little about the sport
trixtuh 4 years ago
Screw you, sorry... LOL... But i am not bullshitting, Nicole Pratt ROFL... I know shes not the best but I can imagine how Federer plays too. Men and women are pretty similar I don't know what your talking about, other than the service speed the groundstrokes arent too different. Whatever you think is up to I suppose so, blah
Sopez1 3 years ago

Sopez1 4 years ago
wow u must be pro * =PPPP
i don't know why your stating henin, she's is a rare exception in the strength department. She still can't hang powerwise with almost anyone on wta tour. i'm not much bigger than henin and i've had to hit the weights to even come close to those speeds on a consistent basis. if you can't admit tennis doesn't take a good amount of strength.... well than i'll just think it's really sad
bigr0g 4 years ago
Tennis actually doesn't take that much real strength. It doesn't take strength to swing a racket really quickly, it takes practice. Look at many pros when they start, especially Sampras. They are tall sticks with quick arms. Later on they bulk up to add a little more weight to their shot, not adding extra MPHs. The most muscular part of their body when they start on tour are the legs and core.
However, saying their shots are not that fast is relative. As you get better, they SEEM slower.

agreed 100%, at least you know what your talking about
bigr0g 4 years ago
pro-am's can hit hard too, but dont be psyched out playing pros. playing a pro its not the speed factor-its keeping up with consistency (if ur in good athletic tennis player shape, youll be quick enough) the difference between a pro and awesome club player is usually the consistency of all strokes.. Serves, forehand, bh, volleys, smashes. for instance a pro can usually hit a serve out wide in their sleep along with easily commanding directional placement on soft or underhit shots to their favor.

That and the fact that it has the score up there on the screen. Dumbasses...

Camcorder videos suck ass, the quality is poor and the crowd is a pain.
This view however is definitively not camcorder and is actual footage taken by crews at the US open, which is why it is so good....
Yutby 4 years ago 2
i love seeing the vids that people have filmed on their own camcorders because i feel like it gives you a better sense of what the players are really doing. i agree with bicolbandit.

Thanx a lot for posting this !

I wholeheartedly agree. A lot of people don't realize the kind of things the pros are doing to the ball. This view definitely shows off the player's talents.
