History will tell us that one couldn't be an artist unless they knew the science 1st. Before one can get to the Art - one has to first understand the science. When you master the science then accurate expression can flow.
Would you expect a baby to write a novel, right? - or even write at all. It would have to 1st learn the science or the building blocks of language then it could express itself. Add in insight, creativity, personality & skill then maybe one could express themself wonderfully.
The science behind art, but is it really needed in order to be a wonderful artist? I've never been introduced to these things at any kind of level in art, yet I'd like to say some of the aspects are relatively easy for the observer to pick up on. Like the relationship stemming from a central point.
@DoIIies As a career Painter and Sculptor myself, It does not hurt to know more to deepen the strength of your work. There is something innate that's in all of us which is emotional intelligence and there is also logic/order that is present in nature, now recognizing both and bridging them together to a finer point results in a much clearer sense of realized truths.
Thanks for your interest... Great News! 30 hours of training video on DVD is coming in the next few weeks. We will also be providing a membership site with full 24/7/365 video access to all the Drawing lectures and resources. Along with that Myron just sent the first part of his book off to the publishers.
Go to the barnstonestudio [com] website - sign up for the podcast or email list so you will know when the DVDs and book are available.
