Not sure what country you live in, but here in the United States abortion is legal.
Are there no circumstances where you would allow an abortion? What if the birth would kill the mother? What if the child would be born, live for only a few weeks (and be in constant agony for those couple weeks) and then die anyway? What if the mother-to-be is actually a young girl who was raped, and her young body/mind going through childbirth would leave her emotionally and physically scarred for life?

I've heard that some women have needed abortion due to medical reasons, but I'm not so sure of that. The only POSSIBLE excuse I would give a mother the excuse to abort is if they were raped. But I definitely agree with adoption, there really shouldn't be abortions unless it's crucial.
If the life of an pregnant women was in danger, the doctor would make every effort to save "both" of his patients. If he cannot, the Doctor will make a decision as to which one can most likely be saved. This is not a choice, but rather how the chips fall...so to speak. It has "always" been like this. This has nothing to do with abortion. But the oath that a Doctor makes to "preserve life". Even when abortions were illegal, this was the practice.

I find no non-arbitrary reason to abridge the pre-existing rights of the embryo. Not sure what country you live in, but here in the United States abortion is legal.
Are there no circumstances where you would allow an abortion? What if the birth would kill the mother? Why abortion okay for teens but not others? Abortion is wrong... It is murder...Science can easily prove this... If a mother can murder her own child... How can we tell others not to kill other people???!?! We can't... Whose life is to be preserved?? Who has the right to decide who lives or dies??

I've heard that some women have needed abortion due to medical reasons, but I'm not so sure of that. The only POSSIBLE excuse I would give a mother the excuse to abort is if they were raped. But I definitely agree with adoption, there really shouldn't be abortions unless it's crucial.

If the life of an pregnant women was in danger, the doctor would make every effort to save "both" of his patients. If he cannot, the Doctor will make a decision as to which one can most likely be saved. This is not a choice, but rather how the chips fall...so to speak. It has "always" been like this. This has nothing to do with abortion. But the oath that a Doctor makes to "preserve life". Even when abortions were illegal, this was the practice.

honestly, i do think it's wrong if a woman gets pregnant and is like "whoops. well time to get an abortion." but in some scenarios i believe it's appropriate(rape etc.). overall, it's a womans body and her right to choose. besides, even if it were to become illegal, women would still do it. why not at least let them have it done safely. they have to live with that choice not you. if you don't like it then don't do it. solved. i wish there wasn't a character limit.

Ashley, If you allow abortion in cases where the mother's life is at risk, or incidences of pregnancy due to incest or rape, that would include less than 1% of all abortion scenarios. Mother's and Father's abort their babies so that they may live a certain lifestyle. We should stop making excuses.

Now as I've said, no rights are absolute and they must be balanced thoughtfully and careful with the rights of others. There may be cases where some people's right to life are found revocable, but we must reach the decision through thoughtful deliberation and care for best protection of everyone's rights, not simply declare humans as unpersons for arbitrary reason and therefore killable for any reason.

I believe it is our superior ability to reason abstractly, come to conclusions, express those conclusions, influence our environment, and also the ability to communicate through language. You are? a human if you have these abilities (older children and adults) or will develop these abilities (infants). By my definition the fetus is human because it will develop these abilities.

The right to abortion came about in the fight for women's rights. So they can have as many rights as men have and not be belittled by men. But if you ask me the right of abortion hasn't boosted women as a whole but has allowed men to degrade them even more than ever before. I find no non-arbitrary reason to abridge the pre-existing rights of the embryo. It is scientifically demonstrably a Living Human Individual (it's not dead or inert and operates on its environment therefore it is alive, the DNA sequence is Human, and it's DNA pattern is distinctive from it's parents), I can not find a non-arbitrary reason (such as it doesn't have friends yet, it isn't productive yet, it depends on others) to abridge it's rights.

Lol, and why do u care about the "man's choice"? Last time I checked, it's the WOMAN who has to carry it for 9months. Last time I checked, It's the WOMAN who has to endure 9+ hrs of labor. It's primarily the WOMAN'S duty to feed & clean the baby. take the baby to doctor appts., get the baby dressed, bring 'em to school and the list goes on... With that being said, the day men are able to carry a baby and are handed all the responsibilites of being a mother is the day men have a say.

Your problem is, you live in fantasy world. NOT ALL abandoned kids are lucky to be adopted by "warm & loving" couples. That's the REALITY of it! Sometimes a family member (of the kid) may decide to take him/her in, but even still, that doesn't mean they'll treat the kid right. Did u ever stop to think about how those kids must feel (the unlucky ones, I mean)?

We euthanize animals because they do not make decisions for themselves, because they are lesser beings in our care.
