  • You should try and make more "squeeze the hell out of the camera" noises.

  • So that list of stations that scrolled on your PC screen are on air, and actually received your message? Does that mean any of those stations can reply? Are you able to print off those transmissions afterwards? Just wondering about the application of Packet in Emcomm. Very interesting vid. Thanks.

  • @miguest66 most of what is listed is called MEMORY HEARD, which mean all stations the the TNC has heard over a certin amount of time! some may be able to connect with you, while may not! TNC's can be setup to listen only, or both Tx and Rx with a radio of course!

  • What kind of "laptop" was that? I kept trying to see if I could grab the model but video was to fuzzy. :-)

  • Is it possible to use a mobile phone or an ipod touch as a TNC?

  • @robfotheringham not that i am aware of!

  • Ah, this is a re-run? I was hoping it was a new video about packet. It's good that you are putting it back online for others, though, if you previously deleted it.

  • Yeah some folks wanted my old videos back up so i uploaded a few more, BTW what kind of Packet radio video would you like me to make for you? I know a few things about it, so what ever you would like to know i well make a video just for you, so ask away!! :-)

  • Thank you. I really appreciate that. Might let you know if I think of a specific request when I work with packet. One thing I'm wondering is: Can you use a PC as the TNC rather than having to buy a separate piece of hardware?

  • Ok, when i get home from work i put a video together to show you how to use a PC as a TNC. Yup it can, and has been done, i started out this way when i first got into packet!

  • @radionut63 That's great to hear! Looking forward to seeing that.

  • So there's still use for those old DOS AT confusers, aye?

  • Oh yes!! Old computers have new life in Amateur radio, even the old 385 can be used, the Commodore64 and just about any PC that has a com port!
