  • Good video. This is what my teacher is covering this week in my first aid class.

  • Hands-only CPR is being encouraged for use by people who are not professional rescuers and may be uncomfortable performing mouth-to-mouth. Pumping on a person's chest without doing breaths is undoubtedly better than doing nothing at all.

By all means, if you are trained and feel comfortable performing full CPR, go for it. But hands-only CPR is a great alternative.

  • I think this is setting a bad example, you are eliminating the oxygen needed for survibal. It is also encourging people who would otherwise use breaths (even with a mask) to only do compressions eliminating the needed oxygen to save lives.

  • survival- sorry typo

  • u said "lay-rescuers" do u mean anyone, ever untrained. I took the Redcross course and am trained for 30-2 cpr. is this the new reccommendation? or something different?

  • I have to take the CPR test for Adult/Child/Infant in 10 days. I use to take a public safety class and Correct me if im wrong, but isn't it 30 compressions and then 2 breaths, im not 100% on that. Also do i have to tap the person and reconize their unconscious and then tell someone to call 911 in the test?! Please Help! Thank You.
