I wish I could do pen tool that steady. When I try to do it slowly it is like an old man having an epileptic seizure, but when I do it fast, I am always waaaay off the mark. That's not even mentioning my wacked-out line depths.

@rtulf Here's how it is... i first drawed and practised different say.. stanes and poses etc by hand.. and my character looked a little out of place... since i hate using the eraser.... if u use the eraser alot on paper in the end it will show.. on a programm.. i also try to make every line perfect etc.. since i know i can EASILY erase and tweak.. so.. u might be able to get a better finished product.. in coclusion!.. if ur drawings are good but with messy lines.. it will probably make it better

Welcome. The Manga studio is the software that drawing for comic book [only black and white]. However, for the best paint CG software is Painter and Photoshop.

Hello Chaiai i just got the manga studio to my computer and just drew a sketch on my tablett and want to line art it, but the problem goes that the lines arnt that smooth and round as urs, my question goes are u drawin it ur self or using a bending tool?.

Yeah this program works fine for any other type of art ,I draw american comics on this all the time on it, it's actually called comic studio in Japan but when it came to America the name was changed to manga studio to attract anime fans.

it depend to you what is your popuse, manga or cg paint. manga studio is very good for created manga and ink line art, photoshop is not create for create manga but you can use it to created.

However both of software it have a good point and bad point depend on your popuse.

Question for you, chaiai...

Do you just have to keep playing with the pen tool and the correction setting to get the lines the way you want them(undo and try again until it's right) or is there a sweet spot to put the correction setting on when doing the inking that makes it work better?

One of my biggest problems is that when I'm inking it takes me forever to finish because I keep having to correct an ink line over and over that doesn't turn out like I want it. Inking takes way too long for me.

for the photoshop i suggest. use normal brush around 2px to 5 px for line art, and use the same brush but in diffrent opacity of layer around 50% for sketch layer.

I generally use the pen tool to draw a nice path, then go to your brush and set the roundness at 30% then angle 45° but it depends on where do you want the lines to be thinner. I usually set the brush to 100 hardness and 5 pix but you need a big sketch (I use 4000 * 4000 res) then go back to pen tool (you should still have the path there) and right click, stroke path. And you should get a nice line =)
