Sony was the real reason Sega fell out of the console wars. Nintendo didn't do shit, but sit there and barely survive off of their repetitive mario and zelda games.
@Bloodthr0e LOL!! Nintendo didn't do shit, but sit there and what?? More like sit there and introduce innovation after innovation! Ideas like analog control, fully realized and interactive 3d worlds and even little things like rumble packs.... Sega fell out because all of their good games were arcade ports, which lack the depth necessary for proper home console games.
@bliglum Nintendo didn't accomplish anything with rumble packs. Sega introduced a lot more innovation over the years, including 3D gaming, backwards compatibility, motion control, cd based games, memory cards, the first online network. Playstation dominated the market and took all the 3rd party support. That's what killed Sega. Nintendo barely got by with their handful of first party games.
@ItalianRobot Yeah, but the Jaguar was like $700 was it not? Or I'm thinking of something else, that or it didn't do well because of the fact that it was hard to program. Either way, the Jaguar could've done very well.
I loved SEGA SATURN for the handful of games that were excellent...... then I saw the other selections. .....sighhhh...... What the heck was Criticom??
it looks like in the end of saturn life there commercial ads were geting better and funner and not as creepy or as weird of launch of the sega saturn thanks for the post
@SuperMrBentley well sega did good with genesis does what nintedo dont ad in fact sega was beating nintendo intel thay decided on making 32x with news of neptune and saturn at the same time people was sick of sega bs at the time sega got right with dreamcast even though peter moore pulled the plug on dreamcast but thats another story
Now you see gamers this is the ORIGINAL Sony versus Microsoft!

I liked the Saturn. My N64 and PS got way more playtime, but the Saturn definitely had its gems.

Three 32-bit processors!
Hmm... multiple processors to have better graphics, sounds a lot like the Atari Jaguar. History repeats itself

@Junedude433
The 3DO was the one with a high price. Yeah that's what I mean, no one will make a good game for it because It's way to hard.

if only they had given people some decent development kits....

@vanillasunshyne yeah the original xbox was by power superior to the playstation 2 but it was sold 5 times more
TheLarres 6 months ago
@vanillasunshyne yeah but i said it. the playstation was sold 106 million times, and the n64 was sold 32 million times, so thats triple as much
TheLarres 6 months ago
@vanillasunshyne but for some reasons the ps1 was sold twice as much as the n64....
TheLarres 6 months ago
i thought playstation was 64 bit and not 32, like the n64

"3 processors make better gameplay."
Wrong, Sega! Good ideas make better gameplay!

@AllieRX87 Besides, those 3 processors only made it harder to program for.
