The spider in the shower with her was a male. When you see it close up as it slides down her body, it has the two front pedipalps (spider term for "p*n*ses") near its mouth. In general, most male spiders are not as aggressive as females. And, most males lack venom.  I say "most" because funnel web spiders are quite different. But, the spiders in this movie do not resemble them.
