Freddie would have loved this version of the song. Annie Lennox was fully committed in telling a little theatrical story ("masking" her androgynous emotions, showing pain, fear, rebellion, hope, unrequited love, etc.) It was her gift to Freddie. Freddie obviously liked that sort of thing -- that is why the other band members knew Freddie would want Liza Minnelli as his finale tribute. The overly dramatic Liza Minnelli was completely for Freddie, certainly not for the fans in that arena.

was Lennox grabbing and rubbing her face all over him. And well, being on the
