The Mazda 2 was introduced as a 2011 model, So technically the Mazda 2 looks like the Fiesta.

So Ford isn't the one doing the copying.

They did, the latest generation Fiesta was build on the Mazda 2's chassis. Also the previous generations were completely different compared to the latest one. So bringing up the 1976 Fiest is actually completely unnecesary. Since Mazda was also building Mazda 323's and 121's back then. But they didn't share parts already back then. Also for a fact, the Mazda 3 was based on a Ford platform, now please stop crying.

A fully stock Bugatti Veyron will only do 10.2 seconds in a quarter mile. There are lots of hot rods, modded muscle cars, tuners, etc that will do better than that.

Just because a Bugatti is the fastest top speed production vehicle doesn't mean it's the fastest drag car. Not by a long shot.

If the fiesta weighs only like 700kg, the first 10 secs are realistic.. After those 10 secs aerodynamics are more important.

And a brick like the fiesta has way more drag than a Veyron...

I would just like to answer any queries here.

The tires are upgraded to their maximum width. (Not sure what this is in game, if someone could possibly fill that in)

Wheel spin at start is the get the turbo working as it doesn't set off faster otherwise in the lower revs.

hahaha that is pretty stupid.... hmm... is Forza calling it a sim? Not that im a stupid GT fanboy, but that just won't happen in real life... You cannot tune a normal focus to do that. Then you have to convert it from FWD to 4WD or RWD to even get the power to the road. Then the problem would be that the aeroedynamics wouldn't be good enough to make it. You would need to remake the car 100%.. I don't know how tuning works in forza, but damn that's unrealistic.

With the wing on the back and the big grill it will create an awful lot of drag. And take a look at the tires on that car. They are very thin and with all that wheel spin off the line it doesn't matter how many horses you have, wheel spin will kill the speed off the line.

erhm, AWD and some sticky tyres would solve the grip problem, and i think you would be suprised at how slippery a modern car is.

a fiesta similar to that one has a drag coefficient of 0.33. to put that into perspective, a veyron has a CD of 0.40 (lower is better).

and, of course a fiesta weighs almost nothing stripped out. plus, the RS200 evo engine is light, and can get 800hp+, it is entirely possible.

i can't imagine a Fiesta beeing better aerodynamically then a Veyron. Because at high speeds that is the key. Could it be that it just don't have the same amount of downforce? because then it would get very unstable at high speed and that will be even worse.

But you need very big tires to get that much power into the road, and this fiesta just don't have that.

well, i searched google for "fiesta drag co-efficient", and 0.33 was the figure for a fiesta ECOnetic, which is extremely close to the fiesta in forza, aero-wise.

and tyres always look thin on forza, whatever their actual width. the max fiesta tyres are 225mm across.

and the fiesta at high speed with no aero mods is quite unstable, but this is a perfectly level, and flat drag track.

And off the line, controlling the wheel spin, is the key to a good run. But with that much wheel spin you will be going nowhere. You can convert it from FWD to 4WD or RWD in forza 3, you can put an entirely different engine block in the car and yes you CAN do that in real life! Also, be aware that the Veyron does not reach its 'top speed' at the 1/2 mile drag, you can only reach its top speed on a race way. And yes, the aerodynamics are the only thing that would be a problem then, but you CAN buy different bumpers, hoods, spoilers that allow you to change aerodynamics from cornering to speed.

Ok, I give you that, the only thing you are correct about are the tires and the aerodynamics (up to a point), but theoreticly its possible and you can blame the game in any way possible, but fact remains that this IS still the ONLY game that allows you to experiment with it! @dude2106 This Focus has had a complete drivetrain swap (race motor + AWD + big turbo + racing slicks + lots of modifications). Would someone do this in real life? Probably not. Could you do it? Absolutely. I'll agree that aerodynamic concerns are probably not accurately addressed in game, but that doesn't make the whole game "completely unrealistic". Just because you don't have half of these tuning options in GT5 doesn't mean they are bunk.

@dude2106 You'd be surprise what ppl can do to cars in REAL life. GT5 keeps these modification options down to the more purest set. FM3 simply allows players to delve a bit more into the "hotrod" realm of car modification. In fact, that's one of the features that has helped draw such a following to the GT competitor......the fact that there's so many different ways to build the same car. And you can save each setup you create to be reloaded at anytime.

I've got a ps3 and 360 if the prologue is anything to go by GT will be a bag of shit. Forza is realistic, I have some fast cars and they handle just like they do in the game. GT Prologue was the worst purchase of my life!!!

Shouldn't have bought Prologue then. You could have known it was just a glorified, overpriced demo. Forza and GT5 are quite comparable. Forza has better imaginative tracks and such and also more but Gran Turismo does have the correct version of the 'Ring. Not without trees and such but the most realistic version. FM1 had a version that was some 6 km short and 2 m wider too. FM3 or GT5 is a tough choice though if you've got and X360 and a PS3.
