brezhnev the best operated the Soviet Union. So it is a pity what not return in any way to it's epoch and book and verses he has written the fine! This person legendary!
I recently heard a radio show where they told that in those times every family in Soviet Union and party had at least one guy who made fun of Brežnev and tried parody towards him.

@xxxpuls Leonid Brezjnev right? ruled from 1964 to 1982 . in his time was the Prague Crisis. in his time was starvation in Russia, in his time was the silly decision to invade afghanistan, in his time was the nuclear submarine crisis... in his time USSR had an incredible stagnation, in his time he spent more money to make nuclear warheads instead of restructuring agriculture and industry... sorry but the golden age of the soviet union was during the Khrushchev Era
Starvation in USSR was only three times: 1. 1921—1922 because the Civil War 2. 1932—1933 It was world starvation, not only in USSR 3. 1346—1947 because the WWII I think, that Stalin is the best General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Reasons: 1. Victory in the most horrible war in world 2. Fast restoration of the country after the War 3. HBomb 4. He left after his death second Superpower state in the world 5. Soviet people loved him
staline was great but he was cruel, khrushtshev was better I think, in his time USSR was the first superpower in the world. not the second like staline's or brezjnev
@alec00618 Yes, I heard about Brezhnev's stagnation. But how this connected with starvation?
USSR has started it's way as superpower in Stalin time. It means more I think.
Many bad things, what saying now-time liberals (cruel and mad killer, etc.) is mostly just saying. It can become clear if you listen to Doctors of History Sciences (like Yuri Zhukhov) and old men which lived in Stalin time.
@LNN94 I agree that staline did a great job. I totally agree... but all he did was structuring industry (after saving the motherland from the war of course) but... in his time USSR was closed... I mean there was no real exchange with the world... plus, I don't know if you heard about the secret city of Moscow ... a giant project that ended around 1953 few years before his death because it was too expensive... Staline spent a lot of money unnecessarily on the cult for his person.unlike khrushchev
@alec00618 I think that closing Soviet borders was necessary because a lot of other countries closed their borders for USSR to. Khuschev spend much money for "De-Stalinization". I think it's more unnecessarily.
staline was great but he was cruel, khrushtshev was better I think, in his time USSR was the first superpower in the world. not the second like staline's or brezjnev en . wikipedia . org / wiki / Brezhnev_Stagnation

@amper314 Dude, I really hate to tell you this but you're talking out of your ass. Economy? WHAT economy? You mean the planned economy plus kolkhozes, a "model" of economy which was only held up by the aid of idiotic waste of natural resources? It was a goddamn fascade, an economy built on hot air, for fuck's sake. But you are probably too full of soviet shit and notalgy for the "good old times" to even able to notice it. You and your kind are just disgusting. Sorry.
He was great Soviet Leader, not like now Putin or Medvedev, he wasn't a men, who only talk, talk and don't do anything (like Putin or Medvedev), he did a lot of things, without many words.
He was great Soviet Leader, not like now Putin or Medvedev now, he wasn't a men, who only talk, talk and don't do anything (like Putin or Medvedev), he did a lot of things, without many words.
He was great Soviet Leader, not like now Putin or Medvedev now. He wasn't a men, who only talk-talk-talk and don't do anything (like Putin or Medvedev), he did a lot of things, without many words.
@BVargas78 but Andropov didn't survive long enough to save Soviet Union, right ? Can we just conclude that it was the point of no return when Brezhnev screwed up Soviet Union ?
@kaobehkaobu Well, you may be right, the fight against corruption was very difficult, even if Andropov did make some progress in tackling it and improving production, he had a constant fight and once in hospital it became harder for him to confront his many political enemies.
@BVargas78 unfortunate case for Soviet Union. anyway, what is your opinion about Khrushchev ? as far as i know, in Russia today, Khrushchev is still a controversial figure
@kaobehkaobu I think Krushchev was a good man with good ideas, some of them were flawed ideas but well intentioned. My opinion is that he was taking the soviet union in the right direction, his reforms would undoubtably have led to soviet union towards a more open, more accountable system. Something essential in a socialist experiment if it's going to have any chance of fighting corruption. It's biggest enemy.
@kaobehkaobu well, Brehznev did drink a lot, but he did also have a stroke in 1975, the same year that speech was filmed so it might be to do with that. He should have retired after his first stroke as his health was poor afterwards and this also had an impact on his effectiveness as a leader.
@BVargas78 and eventually it cost his life. lets turn our attention to Chernenko. He led Soviet Union for 13 months only. Was he a good leader or not, and did he simply accelerate the downfall of Soviet Union? Besides that, he was like ill even before he took power, right? I see the videos, he is always out of breath
@kaobehkaobu Chernenko was no more than a puppet for the privilaged and corrupt, he was easy to control and they must have breathed a sigh of relief when they got him in. Gorbachev inherited a very difficult situation afterwards, i think his reforms were well intentioned but badly suited for the condition the USSR was in. Personally i think the glasnost 'openness' was a good thing but i wouldnt have gone for the 'perestroika' economic liberalisation, not at that point in time anyway.
@kaobehkaobu I get the impression Gorbachev was keener to look good to the west than do what was in the national interest. His intentions werent bad as something had to be done, so i wouldnt call him a traitor. He went about it in a bad way though. Yeltsin was a traitor to the Soviet Union, but depending on ones point of view, not to Russia. But whatever way you look at it Yeltsins actions caused great hardship and misery to millions of russians, even an anti soviet nationalist must admit that.
@BVargas78 To Russia, Yeltsin is a hero. To Soviet, Yeltsin is a traitor. In fact, isn't Yeltsin himself a Communist too, since he also joined the Communists, right ? He also led a coup to overthrow Gorbachev too. Well I only know during Yeltsin's rule, the economy remained bad, started the Chechnya war and caused great harm to others...I guess for Gorbachev, even if he wanted to save Soviet Union, he could barely do much already...
@kaobehkaobu Entering the political arena by joining the communist party was the only way to gain any advancement or influence in those days so it's likely because of that that Yeltsin joined the the communist party, not because he was a communist. He was brave, in his actions of the August coup, but after dismantling the Soviet Union i am highly critical of the way he went about privatisng the Soviet economy. It led to the rise of the oligarchs and wasnt open or democratic.
@kaobehkaobu yes it did, Yeltsins advisors called his regimes actions 'shock therapy' to make a sudden and unreversible transition to a capitalist economy but the speed at which it was done led to a chaotic period with large inflation figures and large unemployment, foreign debt as well as the rolling back of social services, leading to terrible hardships. You can see why Putin is popular with so many Russians as he brought back order, economic stability and real economic growth.
@kaobehkaobu not sure, he's still highly influential and popular with the majority of russians so maybe. But i don't think the new constitution would allow it, I don't think Putin see's a need to try change that either. Medvedev is a bit more of an economic liberal, but steady about how he goes about it. They are both genuine friends as far as i can tell.
After 1973 Brezhnev was in really bad shape because of severe strokes. He wasn't there mentally like He had been before. It makes You wonder who in the background was running things, probably Yuri Andropov..
I miss the USSR. It gave me hope here in America where I'm a wage slave. But I still have hope. I hope in the many communist revolutions being fought in many places. I have hope in Red China, even if their understandable imitation of Lenin's New Economic Policy is a counterrevolutionary hot potato for them. I have hope that Russia will defeat reaction. I have hope, but I miss the USSR.

FOR A RUSSIAN MAN TO LIVE UO TO 75 YRS IS EXTRAORDINARY. STRANGELY, ALL RUSSIAN LEADERS USED TO BE IN OFFICE UNTIL DEATH. THEY WON ALL ELECTIONS
@jakubpetricek too bad Czechs sided with Soviets against Poland during 1920 Polish-Soviet War. I think the Poles fucked u well to take Zaolzie from u because u blocked Hungarian aid to Poland and took Cieszyn from them. U are atheist pieces of shit. You are totally communized and germanized.

We were not easy to go on uncharted path, the country
endured a civil war and foreign intervention, economic of the
devastation caused by them.
Then a bloody war against Nazi Germany,
which killed 20 million Soviet people.

@LNN94 ever heard of the brezjnev stagnation?
staline was great but he was cruel, khrushtshev was better I think, in his time USSR was the first superpower in the world. not the second like staline's or brezjnev
alec00618 1 year ago
@alec00618 Yes, I heard about Brezhnev's stagnation. But how this connected with starvation?
USSR has started it's way as superpower in Stalin time. It means more I think.
Many bad things, what saying now-time liberals (cruel and mad killer, etc.) is mostly just saying. It can become clear if you listen to Doctors of History Sciences (like Yuri Zhukhov) and old men which lived in Stalin time.
LNN94 1 year ago
@LNN94 I agree that staline did a great job. I totally agree... but all he did was structuring industry (after saving the motherland from the war of course) but... in his time USSR was closed... I mean there was no real exchange with the world... plus, I don't know if you heard about the secret city of Moscow ... a giant project that ended around 1953 few years before his death because it was too expensive... Staline spent a lot of money unnecessarily on the cult for his person.unlike khrushchev
alec00618 1 year ago
@alec00618 I think that closing Soviet borders was necessary because a lot of other countries closed their borders for USSR to. Khuschev spend much money for "De-Stalinization". I think it's more unnecessarily.

Brezhnev was to blame for the decline of the soviet union, if he was more like Andropov it would still be standing today.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 but Andropov didn't survive long enough to save Soviet Union, right ? Can we just conclude that it was the point of no return when Brezhnev screwed up Soviet Union ?
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu Well, you may be right, the fight against corruption was very difficult, even if Andropov did make some progress in tackling it and improving production, he had a constant fight and once in hospital it became harder for him to confront his many political enemies.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 unfortunate case for Soviet Union. anyway, what is your opinion about Khrushchev ? as far as i know, in Russia today, Khrushchev is still a controversial figure
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu I think Krushchev was a good man with good ideas, some of them were flawed ideas but well intentioned. My opinion is that he was taking the soviet union in the right direction, his reforms would undoubtably have led to soviet union towards a more open, more accountable system. Something essential in a socialist experiment if it's going to have any chance of fighting corruption. It's biggest enemy.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 i see...btw : /watch?v=rjLBdT1jVL0 ... some claims he is drinking liquor while presenting his speech. what you think ?
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu well, Brehznev did drink a lot, but he did also have a stroke in 1975, the same year that speech was filmed so it might be to do with that. He should have retired after his first stroke as his health was poor afterwards and this also had an impact on his effectiveness as a leader.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 and eventually it cost his life. lets turn our attention to Chernenko. He led Soviet Union for 13 months only. Was he a good leader or not, and did he simply accelerate the downfall of Soviet Union? Besides that, he was like ill even before he took power, right? I see the videos, he is always out of breath
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu Chernenko was no more than a puppet for the privilaged and corrupt, he was easy to control and they must have breathed a sigh of relief when they got him in. Gorbachev inherited a very difficult situation afterwards, i think his reforms were well intentioned but badly suited for the condition the USSR was in. Personally i think the glasnost 'openness' was a good thing but i wouldnt have gone for the 'perestroika' economic liberalisation, not at that point in time anyway.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 some people say Gorbachev is the traitor of Soviet Union, while some say Yeltsin is the traitor of Soviet Union. What are your views
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu I get the impression Gorbachev was keener to look good to the west than do what was in the national interest. His intentions werent bad as something had to be done, so i wouldnt call him a traitor. He went about it in a bad way though. Yeltsin was a traitor to the Soviet Union, but depending on ones point of view, not to Russia. But whatever way you look at it Yeltsins actions caused great hardship and misery to millions of russians, even an anti soviet nationalist must admit that.
BVargas78 1 year ago

kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@BVargas78 To Russia, Yeltsin is a hero. To Soviet, Yeltsin is a traitor. In fact, isn't Yeltsin himself a Communist too, since he also joined the Communists, right ? He also led a coup to overthrow Gorbachev too. Well I only know during Yeltsin's rule, the economy remained bad, started the Chechnya war and caused great harm to others...I guess for Gorbachev, even if he wanted to save Soviet Union, he could barely do much already...
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu Entering the political arena by joining the communist party was the only way to gain any advancement or influence in those days so it's likely because of that that Yeltsin joined the the communist party, not because he was a communist. He was brave, in his actions of the August coup, but after dismantling the Soviet Union i am highly critical of the way he went about privatisng the Soviet economy. It led to the rise of the oligarchs and wasnt open or democratic.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 i see. in fact Russia economy continued to go downwards under Yeltsin until Putin came to power...
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu yes it did, Yeltsins advisors called his regimes actions 'shock therapy' to make a sudden and unreversible transition to a capitalist economy but the speed at which it was done led to a chaotic period with large inflation figures and large unemployment, foreign debt as well as the rolling back of social services, leading to terrible hardships. You can see why Putin is popular with so many Russians as he brought back order, economic stability and real economic growth.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 i guess many still want Putin to return to power and be president again?
kaobehkaobu 1 year ago
@kaobehkaobu not sure, he's still highly influential and popular with the majority of russians so maybe. But i don't think the new constitution would allow it, I don't think Putin see's a need to try change that either. Medvedev is a bit more of an economic liberal, but steady about how he goes about it. They are both genuine friends as far as i can tell.
BVargas78 1 year ago
@BVargas78 i see. well lets just say Russia will have a great future under them :)
