Sony just gave me (and quite a lot of people) free access to the PS1 version of this, and EVERYTHING is wrong. Everything. Penguins replaced by elves, the clever level designs that actually took thought completely gone, the music a mix of awful versions of the Robocod soundtrack, the Operation Starfish music and goddamned Christmas tunes. Thanks for uploading this to remind me what the real Robocod played like; the Playstation version is a travesty.

Like one of them was a Cheese (I think) and that stood for C and then you'd collect the one that began with H and so on. I thought this game was amazing so I never bothered cheating. Also when you did you cheat you were invincible for a long time. It did eventually run out though.

I played and beated all 3 episodes of the original version (Amiga, of course) It was between 1997 and 2001. I was only 2 the first time I played this game... Recently I played the NDS version, I'm happy they kept the "classic" original style and graphics ^_^

are you asking for an emulator to run amiga games on a mac? google is your friend. You will need to get ahold of some kickstart roms though. They are licensed still.
This game coloured my childhood. Today when listening to this themesong, I can see the structural similarities with todays electronic music. Probably why I like it so much.
I played this game too much as a child, but that was the PC version. We never had any Amiga at home :/ Nonetheless, I've got myself an Amiga 1200 so I can enjoy this game (and others) in an even better version. :D

yeah! collecting the items at the start in the right order did this...i think...Or might have been the cheat you typed in at the intro...was something like "little marmaid" i think..hard to remember...think it was that cheat that did the door thing and more
I have the Atari ST version, and there are two cheats. One, right at the start, above you on a ledge are 5 items. You have to collect them to spell CHEAT using the first letter of each item.
Also, in the first door, first level, you'll come across shortly after another 5 items, that you can spell out "LIVES" in the same manner.
If you like, I can record it and post it here to show you?
already done so - check it out in my videos. Only problem is it loads painfully slowly for some reason so you may have to put it on and wait for a while ._.
Pick up the items in this order: Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple and Tap (to spell CHEAT!) - this gives you around ten minutes of invincibility. You can do this again at one point during the Sports Level.
Also in the Sports Level, you can pick up the Penguin, Oil, Wine, Earth and Racket (POWER) to give you five energy units.

it wasn't. Your system evidently doesn't play dos sound correctly. Try downloading and running dosbox. It makes dos games work in windows properly.

I used to love this game when I was little! Got the ROM but it's not the same as playing using a console.
I used to jump right to the top of the castle, make James jump, "crouch" and fall to hear the massive crash when he hit the ground. What a dweeb. XD

You can get WinUAE to emulate an amiga, but I have no idea where to get roms though.

I had this on the Amiga, and currently have the GBA version.
The GBA version has the Amiga music, but sadly uses levels from the PS1 game instead. And there's no penguins! :(
