  • wow the bass on this is pretty freakin amazing, great tone, i wish he'd let loose a bit more, but i'll take what i can get o___O

  • perfect !

  • David Sancious (keyboardist from legendary Sting Ten Summoner´s tales era !!!!!!!!

and Steve Gadd !!!!!!! and Nathaniel East = THIS IS GOOD JAZZ GROUP!!!

  • Love this dude!

  • AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song written by Clapton and George Harrison. It was untitled until Eric misread one of George's scribbles on the sheet music. He had written "bridge", indicating the bridge section, but Clapton thought he had written "badge".

  • My husband is right Eric never uses his pinky!

  • @lawrenceb51 they say the best things are often the simplest of things....hey, django lost the use of 2 fingers so all his solos were done using only 2 fngers on his left hand...he only used the other 2 for chord work.....i dont think he used his thumb but hey he was django.....

  • My badge!

  • I have this song guitar lesson!!!!!

  • I like more clapton's solo version, it sounds more nostalgic. But great job from both George and him !

  • Eric clapton is like wine, and you know why

  • steve gadd is a metronome..

  • esta buenisimo.!

  • can anybody tell me what's the drumer player's name?!?! Thanks

  • @sustainlight1 Steve Gadd--one of the best

  • @glclicksmugmug is steve gadd in red

  • @deltamx --Steve Gadd is on drums

  • @deltamx no thats andy fearweather low the gray shirt is steve gadd

  • It's "Where is my Badge."

  • @TheAZBF no its not, stupid

  • Damn you clapton!!!!! I have homework....

  • Solo in 4:29 sounds like from Benny Hill tune :D

  • Every version compared to the original sounds absolutely inferior in my opinion. This said, Gadd is a monster and the ending coda with the keyboard solo (bar the "Love is my badge" vocals, which I don't like) is excellent

  • Steve Gadd is just like Eric GOD

  • who plays the guitar this perfectly in today's music..none of them, most of these kids today play no instrument at all..Great song, excellent talent.

  • @bartskid1 i'm 15 i play the guitar

in fact clapton and kirk hammett are my role models

stop stereotyping, you don't know much

he's from a unique generation the way i see it there will never be another clapton, do you not think us 'kids' would give anything to be able to play as technically or as emotionally well as clapton?

and if you're saying kids as in you me at six etc...they're just posers..

  • @bartskid1 John Mayer's not too shabby... but his talent is kinda wasted for me by his personality. Still, not too shabby.

  • YES BEFORE they bring the CURTAIN DOWN

  • repected STEVE GADD

  • love this song

  • 7 People have gone too far

  • 7 people weren't driven far enough.

  • it's not 2007 it's live in japan 2001

  • @MrClapton82 thats not what 2007 means

  • @MrClapton82 This was filmed at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

  • Sin palabras, solo admiracion

  • harrison clapton the best

  • The original was better, he does something funny at the end of the first few lines ie. "dark" and "park", I don't know why he changed the intonation ,but as in most cases the original was better.

    Good guitar work though!

  • Always impressed by Nathan East.

  • its just or that steve gadd is not doing nothing intersting here....?

    to bad...

  • @12345adir watch "River Of Tears" from this same DVD and watch him doing something interesting ;)

  • @matirocker In "River Of Tears" he makes the Stratocaster talk, reminded me of Hendrix. Clapton is the "musician's musician".

  • @ergastule I was talking about Steve Gadd

  • Years ago I met David Gilmour in a pub in Fulham. I told him I thought he was better than Eric Clapton. I take it back. And hey, the black bros really add to this - I mean the keyboard and bass!

  • I prefer version form the hide park, but this is amazing too! Beautiful!

  • @MrThomasMagnumPI me too i have the CD from hide park witch was in 1974 maybe i don't remember and clap 4 Clapton yaa

  • if your gettin drunk, high or even laid. believe be this is the song for you

  • :50 that's tasty!

  • me parece a mi o el solo de esta cancion inspiro "No te alejes tanto de mi" de Spinetta Jade???

  • ayer lo vi en argentina, me hizo lagrimear el hijo de puta este, que bestia por dioooos!

  • just saw him yesterday

amazing performance, this is my favorite song

  • Now that is a performance worth paying for. =)

  • Wew! Now that is somethin'. :)

  • true talent right there

  • Excelent electric guitar sound and solo,

  • what's in the keyboard player's mouth? some kind of talk box like you can have for guitar?

  • This song never gets old. I absolutely love this version. The sound is amazing, the bass lines are awesome, the solos are killer. It's literally perfect.

  • @utmmusicman Take a look at 2005 Cream reunion man, that's THE version; what are they doing here all those fucking keyboards with their horrible sounds here? Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, that's all we need. Personally don't like bass line, the guy seems to stand there and say: look how I can play! That's not rock'n'roll. That's not the proper grip of Eric Clapton's sound, that's not killer at all.

  • I'd to terrible things if it meant I could have that guitar

  • thank mom

  • /watch?v=8GRp_r0R3gk

    our band playing badge!

  • screw your commercials wb

  • awsome bass

  • Amazing!!!!!

  • love the colour scheme on the Fender Statocaster.

  • This is one of the reasons why I never attend live shows. Silence of any kind is never tolerated by the audience; they have to fill it with cheers and whoops. Imagine how great that guitar would sound coming out of complete silence. But no... It never happens, except on the studio version.

    Great performance though.

  • Steve is so awesome! Love that man! I wanted to marry him.. But my girlfriend said no.. :(

  • Yes, the best version of Badge

  • yes.

  • Thumbs up if you love nathan east and his Godlike fingers.

  • hi guys i did a fingerstyle arrangement cover of Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight on my channel please check it out!!!!!

  • Needs notes!!! Who else is playing on what?

  • Comment removed

  • @dhh02192

    Andy Fairweather Low on guitar

    Billy Preston on Hammond Organ

    Steve Gadd on drums

    David Sancious on keyboard

    Nathan East on Bass guitar

  • I have to admit, i feel that all of Claptons classic songs sound just so much better in recent live versions compared to the original studio versions. I never liked Badge that much but I heard from many that it was good so I gave it another try with this. Love it!

  • I actually think Hyde Park is the best, But this one is a close second.

  • tooo muckin fucch hes married to mabel

  • this song never gets old................

  • billy preston- one of the good guys, forever, rip

  • There a concert that was done In Conn. many years ago...That was the best Badge I ever heard

  • amazing how clapton attracts great bass players, nathan east wow, check him out with fourplay

  • That's gotta be the best version ever! And Nathan East on Bass wow

  • @11xemnas11 Nah, it's not necessary, they already kick asses playing without one, imagine with one saxophonist.

  • Half a century later this songs sounds as fresh as it did in '69.

That is what you call legs. What a fantastic production. Wish we all could have been there. Warner Brothers are a couple fortunate dudes.

    Thanks for sharing, now free up the embedded, boys....;~}}}

  • well I luv the Fanny version..but this is good...but I'm missing the vocals......

  • ...now he's married to Mabel. ;0) ? i don't know..

who's playing drums here? what power and energy!!

  • @jwdragonfire That is the great Steve Gadd.

  • @jwdragonfire Steve Gadd on drums.

  • ...now he's married to Mabel. ;0)

  • 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS.!!!

  • Uau!!! Simply the Best!!!

  • This song was Co-written with Eric's great friend, former Beatle George Harrison.

NO WONDER it's such a great one.

  • Heavens, simply amazing....just amazing. Hail, Eric Clapton and this band combo!

    Robert A.M. Stephens

    Scaled Dynamics

    NASA

  • till he's dead he will never lose it. Love Eric Clapton (no homo)

  • I would like to see Eric go back to SG. :)

  • Brilliant! by the way - they're singing "where is my BADGE" at the end, and the keyboard player is using a breath controller during his solo

  • Gadd is THE SHIT! Awesome!

  • gonna see Clapton live in 7 hours :P

  • @SlashMayHendrix How was the show? Where did you see it?

  • What are they singing at the end?

  • @frederickus Where is my badge...

is kinda weird lyrics. The title represents the chords used in the song: B-A-D-G-E

  • @gre1990

Also the six strings on a guitar :)

  • @gre1990 if you had it any guitar knowledge you knew that isn't true, but as ashhel5 says, it is an anagram for the strings on the guitar E A D G B E. Although clapton said he got the name because of Harisson's weird handwriting, where he read Badge instead of Bridge.

  • @frederickus where is my badge i think

  • Ive been watching Eric since the mid 60s. He was good then and now he's Great.

  • In 09 I saw Robin Trower , Eric Clapton w/ Roger Daltry , then Jeff Beck . I said , " thank you God " . Then I got a little worried , i thought this might be my old guy reward and my time might be up . Nah , he was just letting the sun shine on an old dogs ass one more time .

  • someone can tell me the name of the instrument used by the keyboard player at the end of the song?

  • Eric, when will you have a show in Israel? We are eager for you!!

  • For epicness, go directly to 2:11.

  • Steve gad, my frend!

  • Don't know why... I reaaaaaaaaally appreciate him, but I just prefer version without Billy Preston.

  • This live version is better than the studio version!

  • @mdandrea39 No it isn't. It isn't even close.

  • spettacolare ..

  • S e n s a c i o n a l ! ! !

  • 2 viewers couldn't find their Badge. Sucks to be them!

  • Well that must've been an awesome show!!!!

  • What's wrong with you Anthony Crystal ?????? Badge is one of the gust of wind songs that filled the sails that breezed the ship of freedom thru the sea of gone past madness main stream culture of the time . It was a fresh gust of magic when it was released. You had to have been there .

  • Eric rules, he played in San Diego on March 6th he was the better than ever! A true legend.

  • what a shame! from rock & roll genius, to elevator-doctor's office music! yukk

  • Is Billy Preston in the black shirt or the blue shirt?

  • @aburkealex blue shirt. the one in the black shirt is david sancious

  • @pjo1226 Unquestionably!

  • @pjo1226 Check out Badge from Hyde Park - 1996... Awesome concert! And I Shot The Sheriff from the same concert is absolutely flawless! And I Shot The Sheriff from Crossroads Festival in 2004. I have one word: AMAZING!

  • I love watching Steve Gadd, the drummer. He drums like his joints are going to come loose at any second...

  • The amazing thing about his leads is he never uses his little finger on his left hand. That is why, as good as Eric is, when he plays with Jeff Beck it is embarrassing.

  • what is the drummers name

  • @deltamx Steve Gadd

  • @sinclair61 thanks very much

  • If its crazy to love Clapton well I'm insane this man is the best

  • ERIC CLAPTON IS GOD!!!

  • great vid, I have to hear this song at least once a month, lol lovely job

  • This version is good, but the 24 nights version is the best in my opinion.
