There is a movie out next year, a dark comedy about what it would be like if atheists really acted like religious folks. the do go door to door with Darwin's Origin, and one of them does blow them selves up for secularism, knowing its real martyrdom as he's not getting the 72 virgins. Its a British film, called "Learning Hebrew", look out for it.
@TheSolusChristus so any meeting of people is a church? is work a church? is the democratic convention a church? does it have to be a regular meeting or can it be a one of like this one? I suppose the share home i live in is a church. Is getting on a bus church? School must be a church then yeah? university is deffinitely a church - it's voluntary, it's regular, you go and listen to someone speak and teach you stuff?
I still can not rationalize the jump from Agnostism to Atheism as it is undeniably based on the same premise as the religions. That premise is that you can reach a sound conclusion (a deity, or anything, does or does not exist) based on no evidence for or against. In my opinion Atheism is just as intellectually dishonest as most mainstream religion (except creationist which are all kinds of silly).
"I see no evidence for any of your God theory's and so just like there is no evidence for Lochness monster I do not hold the belief that any of your God theory's are true" - The word for this is A-theist
With absolute knowledge i can't even be sure I exist, it's about practical knowledge.
Also Note that there was no claim that God did not exist, just like Lochness, if evidence is given I will change my mind
Your right 11 months ago I was spewing out large helpings of my own ignorance. Since then quite a bit has changed in my life and I to identify myself as an agnostic atheist.
Part of what changed my mind is that I sat down and dissected the words and realized that atheism is a binary state and completely separate from gnostic or agnostic.
Thanks for trying to set me straight but the mission has been accomplished. Sorry for getting that ignorance all over your shoes.
@Berelore That's alright bro, to be fair I went looking for it and then stamped around in the puddle. That's really positive that you have grown as a person, I know i have alot to do, it can be hard. Keep posting man, keep exploring videos
I think that if a discussion gets to the point of an argument, the possibility of persuasion has been lost. In the end, everybody becomes an atheist on their own. I really don't think it's possible to "convert" someone to a position of rational thought. They either hunger for rationality, or they prefer comfortable delusions.
Nah.. although I don't think atheist "conversion" happens very often due to an argument.. people DO base their opinions on authority figures or good arguments.. you may be making the dint in someones theism or cracking their armour of dogma with a good atheist argument.
This is the video of that guy in Salt Lake City. xD

@Berelore Check your understanding of the terms,
"I see no evidence for any of your God theory's and so just like there is no evidence for Lochness monster I do not hold the belief that any of your God theory's are true" - The word for this is A-theist
With absolute knowledge i can't even be sure I exist, it's about practical knowledge.

How true. That's why I am trying to repair my mistake in trying to bully him back into reason by writing a book, taking one step at a time.
So ACA is one of the reasons why I am no longer passive, but active, as I chatted with Matt about it and he advised to look for alternatives.
