I guess he lost control because of aquaplaning as major reason, yet if you look carefully he spun round right after an imperceptible hillock, and the trajectory a little curved to the right also contributed. Throttle reduction worsened the situation being the car front-wheel drive, thus giving less grip as result of the manoeuvre.

Nevertheless once you loose grip on wet or iced pavement you're 99% fucked no matter what you try.

Its obvious you weren't ready to counter steer it and by the time you noticed it, you froze up. I would have switched gears a bit faster in the wet, also. Too high in powerband is harder to deal.
