  • Is running with dcc or dc ?

  • Very nice video, good job. I like the Virgin trains and I also like your layout and scenery.

I have a Hornby video that I have just posted and I would greatly appreciate if you could take a look: /watch?v=SlgM6PU4tNg&context=C3647027ADOEgsToPDskKEp60F9ghQgNEkkFLBRb-N

  • What do you use to sculpt hills and tunnels?

  • That looks amazing, great video. Wish I had that set :P

  • cool how much did all that cost im in to wourd war 2 trains and dat i build the moddels and do you hver crash them on pupose

  • cool how they swing out like that around the turns... imagin standing next 2 the real thing while its turning and being to close. its like getting Punched by Chuck Noris!

  • nice layout what did you make tunnel out of?=)

  • I bought sheets of thick polystyrene - the type used to insulate lofts. I cut them using a bread knife and constructed walls either side of the track, and placed more polystyrene sheet across the top to form a roof. I used news paper soaked in a 50:50 mix of PVA glue and water and draped it over screwed up paper and the tunnel to make the hills, whilst still damp, i scattered green scenery all over the desired area. I hope this help with your projects.

  • does it keep derailing

  • no problems so far, this train has been very well behaved since purchase.

  • What a great layout. I spied some older trains standing about. With three tracks you could have had one going the other way.

    Well filmed. Bravo!

  • dont u think da curve is too much

    looks so fake

    other then dat nice layout

  • that's my dreem to have a railway just like that!

  • Nice setup, it's a credit to you.

  • Thank you very much. I appreciate your comment.

  • How do you make terrain such as small hills and large hills???? please message me back!

  • I use polystyrene sheets cut with a bread knife - rubbed and scraped to shape (very very messy) I also use strips of news paper soaked in a mix od 50:50 PVA glue and water - draped over screwed up balls of news paper and polystryrene off-cuts. I then use a hand spray (normally used for plants) with the same glue water mix (add a little detergent to prevent bobbling) - spray this mix over the desired area and sieve or sprinke green scatter over the area and leave overnight to dry.

  • Nice layout. Mine is only 4x6 feet and yet it has two lines. Very sharp corners arnt helping the trains, the engine wheel slip :O

Do you only have modern trains? I have mostley older ones from 70s cos they are my fathers :)

  • It's an amazing layout. I plan to extend mine! 5 stars for the video

  • very good i love you set

  • I rated it 5*

  • Your realtive has a really great layout wish mine was like his!

  • wow, its sounds like a real train especially at 2:56

  • i love del boys van at 2:22

  • ive got one of them it was a keyring

  • I opened it 2 days ago. The best. I know how to turn lights on and off on the digital controller, but can the pantograph be controlled? How? Thanks for your help. Once again the best layout I've ever seen.

  • nice railway

  • i'm getting this for this christams

  • me too

  • abousoluetly amazing!!!!!!videos keep up with the good work.

  • Wow your set looks great. Im hoping to get myself one to. Is yours DCC ready or DCC fitted

  • i believe it is dcc fitted, which may explain why the lights dont work with my basic controllers.

  • I loooked at other vids, and there's one big light on the right, and one smaller on the left. wen i got mine i examined it and realised this is because the lights are only fitted in one place on each side instead of two (a small and a big). Do u kno y they r fitted like this, i'm curious?

  • can you take a video if your whole layout from a distance? (the whole thing in one shot)

    your layout inspires me! thanks

  • Take a look at my flying scotsman video, the final half minute or so, tracks the train for one entire loop from the point of view you may be looking for.

  • beautiful. i have one now.

  • nice! i have one too but its the old style virgin train

  • wow thats wicid that must of taken you ages to bulid that

  • Nice model railway and nice video, I gave it 5

  • Thank you for your rating.

  • Where did you get the pendolino?

  • you can get it from arogos or where ever you live. I live in cheltenham so i could get it from cheltenham modle shop go to a modle shop where you live or argos.

  • Cool layout and 5 stars!

  • No lights on front and back of the train?

  • yeh most trains have light at the front and back for hornby trains like that.

  • Is it true the driving car doesnt tilt!!?

  • this layout is brilliant

i have a layout in my loft but not like that

  • I wish my relatives would build that for me. :(

  • Woo Hoo! Ten Thousand Views Now!

  • nice, i was going to uy the pendolino but then i found out that hornby rip you off and the drivng car doesnt even tilt!!

  • And from what I've heard, the pantograph doesn't work either.

  • nice layout

  • what a racket lol, good thing the real ones a bit quieter!....does anyone else think the hornby pendelino hardly tilts compared to the apt?

  • Hi guys,

Can I ask a Question? Please answer me if you know this.

    What's DDC?

  • DCC is a modern control for model railways, You can control 99 trains + track accessories (points, signals etc...) and lights on trains, all from one controler instead of having lots of controlers and switches =]

thats what Digital Command Control is!

  • Thank you very much!

  • thts like ma hornby, its mint

  • Where can you find an hornby anolouge pendolino train set because i do not have DCC and my parents said i couldnt.

  • spanna1234dan- You can try to get the decoder out of it , but i dont know how easy that would be, but you can get eurostar, its very similar.

  • Thank you

  • Depending on the decoder in it, you can run a dcc loco on a dc track.

  • You dont need a DCC to run it get just the train pack its works with anolouge & DCC.

  • is that the orienbt express pullman parked up in a siding

  • You know what? I think you might be right. I tell you what, just for you i will feature that train in my next train movie when i visit my relative next time! :-)

  • thought it was lol coz i av it n thanks

  • i love the way they tilt when useful

  • has tht model got the tilting feature

  • Really nice layout and well put together - need to get more coaches to make it more realistic.

  • nice layout i like the station i havent got mine set up yet because of redevelopment and at the moment havent got the space

  • It doesnt look like DCC as the pullman coaches in the siding didnt have its lights on at 1.22

  • Very nice

love the pendolino, but nothing beats the 747 in virgin of couse

  • nice looking layout

are you running DC or DCC, the only reason I ask is the running lights dont seem to be working on the pendy

  • nice train

  • Woow! this layout is nice! really good job looks great!

  • Thank you for your kind words. Next time I visit, I will take measurements for you.

Due to family commitments, I neither have the time or the money to build another for a few years yet. Retirement age I think.

  • Is this in the loft?

  • Yes. This room is indeed in the roof area. I guess the sloped ceilings/walls gives it away. Well spotted. As you are very observant, you may catch a glimpse of me in the reflection of the window during the vid.

  • love the effects of the vid 5*

  • I got that for xmas its great!!!!

  • Great vid. Makes it look very good. Does the lights work or has the contacts from the bogie wires snaped like mine did which required re-wiring? If your using DC I can understand why not.

Great vid. Looks good all the different angles.

  • I must admit, I did wonder about that. Thankyou for the tip, I will investigate this issue next time I give it a run. Thankyou for your kind words.

  • if your using DC lights wont function. If your using DCC then just use "F0" to make them work. Hope this helps!

  • Grr. I have standard DC at the moment. On the positive side, I wont bother taking it apart. Cheers for the heads up!

  • no problem glad to help!

    Cheers

  • thats ok. it is a great railway. i wish i could have one like that one day lol

  • wow!! you make brilliant lay outs!!! and a pendolino on it makes it a brill video!

  • Thank you very much for your kind words. It makes it worth while. :-)

  • Very good......

  • pendolino's have 9 carriages :-(

  • cool layout

  • Thank you.
