When Obama proclaim you have a right to health care, He means other things. 1st they want unlimited power to force others to provide U with health care. They also mean that U have no right to manage & provide for your health care, but that which is provided & approved by the government. The Fed Govt. decides what treatments U can & cannot have. They demand your doctor provide the Gov all personal details of your health care ! Whatever this is, its not protecting your rights.
My policy for my wife and I runs $18,000 a year. Do you really think that John McCain providing a $5,000 tax exemption is going to do us any good?
John McCain is like most Republicans. They just can not get their asses out of the 50's.
They can not deal with reality, and they can not face facts.
You can pull 700 billion out of your asses for Wall Street, 10 billion a month for Iraq, but never enough for any healthcare benefits for our own people.
I say lead by example! McCain has plenty of money he can opt-out of government provided health care and buy his own insurance like he expects the rest of us to do. While he's at it, he can stop drawing social security too. If he's so adamant about his position of smaller government and less bureaucracy then he needs to walk the talk and lead by example not just rhetoric. This is why I have no respect for the crap he spews because it's just that, crap.
This was informative. I am pro-McCain but what I have heard is like readjusting the deck chairs on the Titanic. I believe we need a program like Canada and Britian..
The current system and McCains proposal does nothing or little to control cost. If the money that is now used to pay for insurance were funneled into a Medical Care Tax.. and
the medical systems nationalized then you would have a workable system. Now you have
Capitalism bidding to help you or NOT. Medicine is not Walmart.
It doesn't matter if it is at walmart, waldenbooks or hardrock cafe....if people who
need it can't afford it...so what? I still don't hear anything about price controls. Republicans still seem to believe people can have a savings plan that will cover Health Care. Sure a Rush Limbaugh or a mega-rich politician like McCain (who I support) can save enought for Health Care but what about the average family? I don't think so. The system needs top to bottom reform that controls cost and access.
What you are suggesting is socialized medicine. Do you really expect a republican to go that direction? If you want base healthcare on a capitalistic model, then don't expect price controls. The republicans feel they can lower cost with competition. There are already retail based clinics with lower costs than a trip to a traditional doctors office. You could clip your coupons in the stores flyers and save even more.
'Experts agree that our health care system is riddled with inefficiencies, excessive administrative expenses, inflated prices, poor management, and inappropriate care, waste and fraud'
'Health care spending is 4.3 times the amount spent on national defense'
His hollow promises are basically telling you that he is not going to help fix the causes, but treat the symptoms.

"Medicine is not Walmart."
According to John McCain:
"Families place a high value on quickly getting simple care. Government should promote greater access through walk-in clinics in retail outlets."
John McCain does think medicine is Walmart. I can't wait to go to Walmart for my medical care.
