  • wonderful guitar solo.

  • I cant watch the fcking thing- the commercial's stuck. Im so f ing sick of this,

  • Funny how a song retroactive to the late-50's early-60s would be make a X'er like me feel very nostalgic.

  • best cats song

  • FUCK BILLY JOE

  • I fucking love Stray Cats.

  • World Trade Center makes an appearance in this video.

This makes me sad : (

But all things aside, this is one of my favorite songs ever.

  • Great song though of course, and epic rockabilly forefathers.

  • the ending of this music vidoe is pretty damn funny... from the breakfast glam shots to brian setzer closing his eyes during the fadeout... LOL they must look back on this and chuckle.

  • when I was young guys looked like the stray cats for real...it wasn't a gimmick. would'nt mind going back to those days agian....everthing was right with the world.

  • Brian looks a bit like Greenday's Billy Joe in this video.

  • I wounder what girl broke Brian's Heart?she must be fuckin' STUPID to pass on a guy like him.Hell man if i had a chance with him, back in the day. I would take him in a heart beat!

  • i love this song

  • @thehippieauthor Setzer's Orchestra is genius, but Stray Cats are brilliant as well, they're very different so it's hard to pick a the better for me :P

  • *sigh*

  • It's just SO good.

  • The Cats hit #35 in Billboard, 12-17-83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • Can't stop listening

  • damn..I feel the same way right now..

    sigh.

  • Brian Setzer is a crooner and a swooner.. he sure gets my blood flowing!

Click 'thumbs up' if you think he is Damn Sexy!

  • I'm not even gay and I'd do Brian;-)

  • I hit "Like" because there was no option that said "Love."

  • Wonder what high school logo was on Rocker's jacket? BTW, I remember the one (!) time I heard this played on a radio station back in the day growing up in Missouri, the DJ said "This song reminds me of the Platters."

Yeah, maybe if they'd had Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar and Elvis Costello on vocals. (Sorry, best comparison I could come up with. ">)

  • lol i am im lost!

  • he shoulda played a young john lennon

  • i wonder if setzer ever misses his former sexy skinny self...

  • please look for the acapella version of this song... awesome piece of art

  • I wrote a Setzer tribute song (a la Gene & Eddie) called This Kitten is Smitten. In it, I reference 15 Setzer/Cats songs. How many can YOU find?

    youtube.com/watch?v=TJ3wMk8lQjQ

  • Great voice!!!

  • Any idea where exactly this s filmed?

    02:53

  • Go Cat Go!

  • Is it just me or does Brian look like Pee Wee Herman with a blond wig on?

  • @geteacher

LOFL! Yeah, darn it, especially at 1:06...

  • great footage of new york city

  • this is one of Brian's best guitar solo's, man he's good, AND, Brian revived the Gretsch guitar.

    Thanks Brian!!!

  • I saw them live about three time , one of the best bands to see live and I have seen a lot of live bands. If you have a chance to see them go for it, even brains orchestra is great, he is a great guitar player live and still has a great voice.

  • one of the best guitar solos ever!!!

  • All in favor of this being the best "Doo-Wop" song for folks born after 1959, please press the "Thumbs Up" button. Thank you. Now, press "Replay", and enjoy. Repeat as needed!

  • Someone needs to replace the "like" button with a "FUCKING LOVE" button.

  • I wish I could tell what Lee and Jim are saying to each other at the end.

  • @gldeluca my best guess is that jim asks lee "where is she?" and coyly smiles because he has known about Brian's girl runnin around. and lee responds with "guess." as the next scene has her running aimlessly through the city, as if lost without Brian.

looks like what they are saying to me anyway.

  • I love this song a lot..

  • lol at 3:25 they flirting with eachother?

  • I would SOOOO sing this song if it were available for Karaoke

  • I love this song

  • FABULOUS wow they were young here lol

  • Brian Setzer should be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame. Much like Stevie Ray Vaughn bridged the gap between Blues and Rock. Setzer did the same with the 50's style of music and reminded us where our Rock n Roll comes from. And how magical the music from that era truly was.

  • 1000000 Times better than Justin Beiber!

  • These guys have awesome hair!!

  • I heard a song called " In Your Mind " by andrew gerbasi feat. steve morrison. Similar sound. Have a listen

  • I was working on a farm when this song came out, and I remember one night, we were all sitting around relaxing after a day of hard work, and one of the guys had headphones on and he was playing this song (you could barely hear it). He was singing the doo-wap stuff. He had his eyes closed and didn't realize everyone could hear him singing. Every once in awhile he'd let out a deep, guttural "Yeah" and we'd all crack up.

  • Cool song! I first heard it on "Young Americans". Can't stop listening to it.

  • for someone who took an older style of music and revisted it, brian setzer was reakky good at makng it soud legit, like it was actually from that time

  • Smooth Tune..........

  • just don't grow-up stay STRAY!

  • I love that solo..

I love this song. We need this music today.

  • STRAY CATS ARE GODS.

  • Well, its somewhat better than what we're subjected to nowadays.Maybe some people think that there was a better time in history and they choose to keep it going.I'm one of them. So please dont be so quick to judge.

  • When I grow up, I wanna be a STRAYCAT!

  • @marexvr lol wean i grow up i wanna merry brian and slim

  • stray cats un mito!!!

  • Sigh...swoon...drool. 2:14 is as good as porn for me. Meeeeeooowww.

  • @gldeluca Same here :}

  • One of my favorites forever.

  • i wish heaven could be the greasers and the dames back in the 50s with not corrupted music, no skanks, no drive by's and a drive in for us gentle men to take the ladys in every movie premier ♥♥♥ :)) heaven is the 50s!

  • @TheGreaser52 I agree but the Stray Cats were the 80's

  • @TheGreaser52

Yes, as long as you could ignore the constant threat of nuclear annihilation, could ignore the mindless slaughter going on in Korea, were willing to conform in all aspects of clothing and surface morality and you weren't suspected of being a communist. Other than that, it was a wonderful time... Well, the music was great anyway.

  • you need to get a grip and understand that life is what you make of it,you may be worried about nuclear war but if it hits your not gonna feel it so,get out and try to do some good and help all those you can cause you got one life and if you spend it bitching about whats going on in the world your gonna die a no talent, waste of space loser.get a life you panty waist!!

  • @graysondrummer

I was referring to the 1950s and how the only thing that was heaven about them was the music, and I get a life lesson from some dickhead who knows nothing about me, but has decided I am a panty waist and on the verge of being a loser. Nice one, ya twat.

  • @TheGreaser52

wow. you my friend are living in a 50's fantasy world.

  • Check his more current solo treatment of this great song. It's under Brian Setzer Orchestra. The 30+ years of bad roads give the song real soul.

  • This is truly the Stray Cats' saving grace.

  • they were such beautiful babies! :) this song gives chills.

  • ROCKABILLY 4 EVER!!!

  • in the mid 80's when i was a litl skater guy .. i use to hang out w/this clique' called "The Midnight Cats" in East l.a.....you know & the rest is history!

  • i LOVE THIS SONG, I ve listen it since the 80's, one of my favorites

  • Wonderful video

thanks for the upload and for sharing.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!! especially wen i found out my husband cheated on me... it was a good release for me...

  • i can listen to this over and over he is one of the best if not the best

  • que buen tema por dios

  • was sitting here online listening to 80s on xm and this song came on..

I was instantly transported back to bar scene just out of high school in

my youth :) this song is timeless, and excellent

  • fantastic stray cats

  • One of my favorite songs of all time..

  • Great song!, Thanks for the video.

  • Whoa, this is a throwback, cutie back in the day but love this song in his big boy voice!

  • Wow, I listened to this song atleast 10 times in a row, still not tired of hearing it.

  • Stray Cats forever.

  • what made these guys great was how they were able to bring back the 50's rock/doo wop sound and make it appealing to the 80's crowd.

  • Ahhh, Brian, so adorable<3

  • This song is pretty much my life

  • Fan-fuckin-tastic!!!

  • Good song.

  • One of my favorite 80's band! They are one of a kind!

  • the look and style is Rockabilly... its classic and some of us still do carry the style and look from PinUp girl style to Teddy boys... its a lifestyle... ROCKABILLY WILL NEVER DIE.

  • @cindys1969

    Couldn't have said it better

  • @cindys1969 yu know it kool kat

  • Amazing talent !!!!

  • 5 people had a muscle spasm and pressed the dislike button in accident

  • @vandreadboy13

    hahaha!!!!

    great.

  • @vandreadboy13 - 3 more seem to have the same affliction...

  • @vandreadboy13 naw they were just born ignorant from inbreeding...

  • *swoon*

  • Here's an example of rarely found music video making genius. From beginning to end, it's just perfect. Take your hat off to real artistry, son.

  • There are 5 idiots who dislike this song. I think the 5 people should take a sharpe object and shove it into both ear's, because they have no clue what good music is!!!!

  • I said to Brian Setzer that this song was influence in my life while he was eating thai food before a show in the early 2000s. He was not impressed.

  • @hattiegreenwood perhaps he lost concentration on the foreign food. >:D

  • Sometimes, seeking nostalgia for one era (the '80s) can lead to nostalgia for another (the '50s). History connects itself in generations, and each generation ties to one another creating a tree of life.

  • Gorgeous, as always.

  • The coolest cats ever...

  • cool

  • great rocka-ballad..5*****

  • hit #35 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • What year was this made?

  • The flipside to this single, was an accopella version of the song.

  • one of my all time favourite tracks!! why couldnt i have been alive in those days.. im in the wrong decade :(

  • That's the old and beautiful rock'n'roll!!!yeah!!!

  • BADD ASS FORREALS

  • I'm loving the idea of the Stray Cats living together :-P

  • One of the greatest songs/ music videos ever! Look at the retro style clothing and even the cars. It is made more modern though and amazing! The 1950's in 1980's NYC. It has never been duplicated since Sha-Na-Na in the 1970's.

  • One of the very last times a Doo-wop song charted.

  • Best song, best album,best band......want more.

  • For a stripped down little Rock and Roll band...

This song truly shows what an enormous talent these gents are!!!

    Damn they are good...

  • my favorite Stray Cats song!

  • i always listen to this when i'm feeling lonely and every time it gets me to tears

  • I love this song!

  • el solo es lo mas

  • al oirla parece que llora la guitarra

  • esta cancion es genial

  • Can anyone tell me where I can download this song?

  • One of the most melodic guitar solos since "Something".

  • same sort of structure too. the song. except this one is faster.

  • I love this song!!!

  • Me too! Bought the album ... too many years ago to admit to!

  • These guys were the truth, they could play, and Brian could sing with pain, and you felt it!!

  • It isn't about record sales either or Chicago would be in. Talk about a travesty of justice Chicago brought a horn section into R&R and sold millions upon millions of records. innovators like Stray Cats and Chicago should be in.

  • What gets me about these guys is they started exactly the same year as Madonna, their debut album Built for Speed came out at the same time as the Queen of Cunts Like a Virgin. Yet she is in the R&R Hall of Fame now and they aren`t. Says a lot about the R&R hall of fame doesn`t it? It`s all about sales not R&R in the least. A skank who rehashes lame disco over a true R&R band that also wrote better songs..

  • @JackHauss Tell it Brother, tell it....

  • Last US top 40 hit for the Cats. Made #35 in Billboard.

  • this is the best song of the stray cats

    5 stars ;)

  • I have to agree.... Perfect song and finally, an original song that stays faithful to doo wop!

  • I have seen him a couple of months ago, he still rocks the foundations of this earth.

    BEST GUITARIST EVER

  • @Buckleyxxx Damn straight.

  • @Buckleyxxx Yes his is the best Guitarist ever.

  • guitar solo is class...this is paul mccartney in a parallell universe...in which pauls parents moved to the states and he never met the beatles...cause setzer looks about 14 years old here

  • What a creative video too! The Doo-Wop brothers singing and the outfits. What a band!!!

  • The vocal group behind the Stray Cats is 14 Karat Soul, a doo wop / soul acapella group from NJ

  • Thank you so much. I thought that they were extras or something. The 80's made some crazy videos back then. Thank you so much. I love and repect doo-wop.

  • The 80s did produce some awesome vids.. I was born in 1980, so I can clearly remember watching MTV with my older bro and sisters from like 'mid 84 on up. 1980-1986 was cool because the 50's were coming back, even if not in the music itself.. Most of the new wave guys were wearing exaggerated versions of 50's haircuts, and doo wop harmony was all over the place even in pop records

  • This Song Is Freaking Amazing...

  • Beautiful song!

  • What a great old-fashioned ballad! I don't hear any 'billy in it, though. :)

  • this is true, not alot of rockabilly in this one, but then again, some of the greatest rockabilly artists in history did ballads such as this... for example, Gene Vincenty's version of Now Is the Hour is absolutely beautiful

  • i meant gene vincent of course... sory bout typo :P

  • The Cats were the best when they were together.

This is one of their best recordings.

  • The most beautiful song!!

  • love love his song.<3

  • STRAY CATS RULE DUDE!

  • que buen tema loco

  • Just a great song,,,, i dunno what else to say. i might be redundant but thanks for posting!!!

  • Love this song....Big Cheers to Stray Cats! Happy New Year Everyone! yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................

  • Beautiful and bittersweet.

  • My wife had moved away when we were dating, and I played this on guitar, and sang it at the top of my lungs when I was drunk one night. The neighbors in the apartment next door didn't appreciate it!

  • cool story bro.

  • Thanks man... They had a huge fight a couple weeks later, and she was beating on the wall for me to come get her. I stayed the hell out of it!

  • great song! thanks for posting!

  • beautiful ! stray cats fucking rules!

  • We need the Cats back.

  • PsychoBilly is cool but the Stray Cats were the best ever!!!! A band like this from Long Island that came after the 50's could capture that sound and feeling better than the bands from that time, is awesome. They should be in the Rock N" Oll Hall of Fame!!

  • They really do, I grew up with old songs instead of most of the garbage they tossed my gneration with in the 90's. They remind me of good times, plus its good music to get you active.

  • THE 90'S WERE GREAT.... >> Umm Grunge?

  • Just bad pop music my cousins used to play on their stereos loudly. The 90's were awesome, but sometimes you gotta admit some shortcomings.

  • Damn, this song is beautiful, sad but beautiful, Brian Setzer, skinny jim and rocker are rockabilly gods.

  • slim jim phantom*

  • @jandrozuko There not "rockabilly gods" There just Gods. Simple.

  • DAMN SONG!... brings back sad memories... But this song is great.

  • I was impressed I was after a long absence, and to listen very hard.

  • wow the cats always rock from loquillo in Rockford ,Il

  • Dammit, here i am again, sad and listening this song, like 15 years ago.

  • I love Brian Setzer's bottom lip :-P

  • haha, me too !

and that little curl that falls down his forehead (:

    the shirtless part is cute.

  • <33

    god, why dont guys

    sing like him anymore

    and dress like back then?
