  • The part after 4:25 is so good.

  • Every single part of is amazing and fits perfectly into the song's structure, but 4:27 is simply transcendent.

  • @UKNOWIT88 Cheesy? BDM like Deicide is cheesy. Aaron Turner's growls, along with Mikael Akerfeldt and Chuck Schuldiner, are among the only singers that growl that I even bother to listen to.

  • this rules except for the cheesy death growls

  • Check out my music for isis inspired waves coming right at you!

  • sick !

  • incredible performance in Portugal...hail!!!!!

  • hail from athens greece

  • Saw these guys live in Leeds a few years ago... intense... incredible!

Check out HofmannsPotion if you get a minute, it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Isis+ ferrofluids= one hell of a good time

  • Awesome song

  • Anyone else notice thet are using Ferrofluid in this video ??? ... This is not CGI ,, this is actual footage wich makes it that much cooler . Whoever did this video is an amazing artist as well

  • @CatFro4 First thing I noticed, lol. Some of it might be CG, I think. It's hard to tell.

  • pretty cool vid. music and art.

  • Really cool video. I think of being trapped in some erratic void of the Earth; then finally escaping from it at the end of the video--enlightening.

  • The 17 people who disliked this are fuckin stupid. ISIS is amazing. Its a shame they broke up.

  • Both hailstone and santoro are great directors... and Isis just showed how cool they are by letting new and young directors take a shot at doing these videos (I mean Holy Tears and this).

Isis, really... just come back together.

  • Muy buena banda, dificil quitarte la idea que te recuerden a Tool, sin embargo suenan genial!

  • The guitar tone at 4:43 makes me feel depressed. Why? Why that sound? Ding...ding...ding dang... that dang made me depressed...

  • @CognitiveNetwork I felt the same... :) From 4:40 on it turns basically into a post-rock song, maybe that's why...

  • Comment removed

  • @CognitiveNetwork I think you're alone buddy, but thumbs up anyways ;)

  • Is that Venom ?

  • Wikipedia says:

"creating heavy music consisting of lengthy songs that focus on repetition and evolution of structure."

  • @MrKingdaddydick troll

  • quite good; well, almost... if it weren't for the growling.

these guys are good but sorry to say, TOOL is still the best on this kind of groove.

  • @foxtweeg Well, different people have different opinions about the growling part, personally, I like it, it adds to the atmosphere of the song, heh, but I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong

  • @foxtweeg You're a moron. Stop comparing Isis to Tool. They only thing they share is song structure.

  • My mom has a dirty mind. She always told me babies came from sex, not purple goo

  • the part at the end makes me horny LoL too bad it wasn't a chick instead of a dude!

  • where can I get these music??

  • Thank god I got to see these guys a couple of months before they broke up. Isis + pre-show reefer = fucking orgasmic!

  • @5amuu NOICE!

  • Isis is legend. I'm so glad I got to see them before they called it quits. Isis is one of those bands that just stands out as a bright star in a vast sea of bland shit.

  • @tehrapeyturtle wow, yeah, I unfortunately had to fucking miss out.... FUCK MY LIFE!!!

  • Isis is just to awesome!!!

  • This band reminds so much of Deftones, wich I like!!

  • One of the best bands in history! Especially experienced LIVE! I feel privileged to have seen them LIVE for once!

  • One of the best bands I've ever experienced live. They triggered a neuron somewhere. I have remained a dedicated listener.

  • i'm in love with this music sooo fuckin amazing

  • Its too bad they disbanded last year :( 13 years of great frickin music XD You guys should check out some Godflesh or Neurosis, if you like Isis.

  • @DeZeikRed20 Oh and they have played with Tool before XD

  • They have very Tool - like videos.

  • 16 people have AIDS.

  • this video is actually really cool

  • Can you send me the PDF of jung's red book please? I can't afford the hard copy right now. Undiscovered Self is probably my favorite book ever and would really like to read Red Book

  • Comment removed

  • If it weren't for ISIS, I probably would've gave up hope on music. So much copycat shitcore music out there, thank you guy for doing something different. Even though you're not around anymore.

  • sososososososososososososososososososo good.

  • I decided to FULLY appreciate each ISIS album before moving on to the next one. In May 2009 I bought Oceanic. In May 2010 I decided to move on to Panopticon, and in December 2010 I moved to Celestial. Next up is this album in a few months!

  • I think it was Aaron Turner who said in an interview that Isis might not be a band that you'll love right away, that they grow on you. This song proves it. After listening to it 4 or 5 times and listening to every riff, lyric, and drumbeat, it's surpassed all others as my favorite Isis song of all time.

  • yeah i definitely agree! i think my top 10 isis songs are (no specific order, and btw i've only listened to oceanic, panopticon, and wavering radiant) : 20 minutes/40 years, threshold of transformation, beginning and the end, hym, so did we, in fiction, wills dissolve, altered course, grinning mouths, and syndic calls. my favorite album is PANOPTICON though! =)

  • @exavier091 Yeah my album order goes Panopticon, In the Absence of Truth then Wavering Radiant. Which means you should really check of ItAoT =) It is much mellower as a whole but still incredible.

  • @marsvoltian WOw i'm definitely getting it then as my next amazon purchase, along with Scurrilous by Protest the hero and Parallax by BTBAM. Have you listened to OCEANIC? I bought it a month ago, and just yesterday I think I truly understand it now. Panopticon and Oceanic are tied for me :p

  • @exavier091 I have Oceanic yes but didnt see AS much in it as the other albums. But i am the minority that feels that way. For many Oceanic is the favourite so =)

  • @marsvoltian Oceanic reminds me a lot of "through silver in blood" by neurosis... kind of.

  • @exavier091 Interesting comparison I must say. I see them coming from the same kind of songwriting mentality, but Neurosis tends to be more dissonant and bleak soundwise, focusing more on the abrasive side, whereas Isis has those elements and in addition many moments of actual melody and beauty. Love both bands though :)

  • @arkkisarkki Most certainly! I must say though, Neurosis definitely experimented with lyricism, blues, folk, and even more minimalism with "A Sun That Never Sets." The record is void of hardcore shouts/screams (the only exception might be "Crawl Back In," but at the end of the song, the shouting developed over one long phrase, and was expected). ISIS's music has a more human like quality. I feel love, happiness, loneliness, wonder, despair, beauty, yearning, triumph (esp. at end of GrinningMouth

  • @exavier091 Weight on Oceanic is awesome as well! :P

  • Isis-centric ymbols included: Water, confinement, violence, the masculine, the journey, light, darkness, tower (inverted), death, transformation, the mosquito.

If you consider WR as a summation and rebuttal of their earlier works this relates most directly to Oceanic and Panopticon. In the end, union and transformation becomes a means for two united parts to escape the confinement of their tower prison. Neither could succeed alone.

  • @Aranneas Where do you come up with that bro? Genius!

  • @Aranneas

He draws massive influence from Carl Jung's 'Red Book'. If you are dedicated enough to reading it its around 200 very tightly packed pages and i can send you the PDF?

  • The video symbolically charts the progression of the band's history.

They started out as underground sludge, struggled to make their way forward, not really sure where they were going at first. Eventually, almost by accident, they incorporated a more human component to the music. After this they managed to ooze outwards and upwards, finally breaking through into success.

Ties in directly with the record's themes of change and a send-off to the fans and the industry.

  • I think I contributed to at least 100,000 of these views.

  • I don't understand how anyone with a sense of versatility in metal couldn't like Aaron's growls. They're so primal - raspy and dry. They're a trademark of Isis' sound. Raw and filled with emotion.

  • n11

  • Good piece of music!

  • This music video should be called "really REALLY bad acid trip while in a sewer."

  • @exavier091 those would be titles of bands with no imagination, that's beyind any Isis song/video.

  • @BODOMmETALwolF haha dude i was being facetious... ISIS is amazing!!!!

  • 15 people are entitled to their opinions.

  • what?

  • Awesome video.

  • the outro of this song i was i believe the end of the world will sound like.

  • One of the best uses of ferrofluids I've seen in a video. Great song and fantastic band.

  • @JBOstler Have you seen pendulum's watercolour music video? that has ferrofluid in it too!

  • @JBOstler Didn't know of ferrofluids, very neat. What I have seen that's awesome is the liquids that are manipulated into cool patterns with sound waves

  • 13 people dislike this song or Isis in general.

  • @mbway99 fuck off

  • brother-sister, panopticon, Hassan Ibn Sabah, don quixote, lucid dreaming...??

  • Agalloch's Marrow of the Spirit is amazing, but Wavering Radiant is the album of the millenium, and yes I'm putting it ahead of Oceanic and Panopticon. The bands live experience totally shifted up a million gears on their final two tours. ISIS, please get back together, the clones can't do it like you did.

  • @ACXENOChRiSt haha true! let em have it!

  • Someone just actually compared these guys to Nickelback...I think you need to take the wax out of your ears, sir.

  • 13 people dont like this song

  • If you like Isis, you need to check out the band Agalloch.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheLewsa Fuck yeah! I love both of them!

  • @TheLewsa I was and still am a big fan of ISIS, and recently i found out Agalloch, they're simply great!

Also Cult of Luna are quite good.

But ISIS, they're something special for people with a good taste in music.

  • Hey would appreciate if if yous could give my band a listen? Cheers! = )

  • @MandalaSkies Go fuck yourself.

  • @MandalaSkies good for you...

  • i'm wordless

  • Tears are far, nervs are calmed, but lucidity is glowing. Isis, better than Valium when you're nervous.

  • Every time I listen to Isis, it feels like entering another world!

  • oh god. spine crushingly heavy!

  • Ferrofluid is so awesome!

  • If you like Isis you should check out the band ATOMIS you can download their song Maelstrom for free at this link: atomis.bandcamp. com obviously no spaces.

  • I heard that Isis broke up , is that true or what?!?! I mean this is band I been listening the past few months and really like this , soo relaxing but powerful I hope that they didnt break up like I heard :(

  • @konjaiyathebest

I am pretty sure they did. I remember reading an interview a while back where they said that they feel that they accomplished everything they set out to and desired to focus on other things. They mutually disbanded to work on other projects.

Hopefully one day they will reunite, but even if they don't they have made some absolutely amazing music for us to admire.

  • @HellishWolf thanks for clearing that up , that is really unfortunate I hope their other projects are equally original and awesome and yes we have their music to enjoy :) I still wish I found about these guys sooner :(

  • beautiful. pure talent. amazing.

    I could go on forever....

  • Ferrofluid is so cool best use of an industrial fluid EVER! You gotta love magnetic fields.

  • ISIS, Cult of Luna, *shels - the best winter music when you want to be alone I think of what the hell is happening in your life.

  • Amazing song, amazing video.

  • Such a beautiful song. Isis means so much to many and will live on forever for all of us...

  • Musical Giants. True Pioneers of music. Thankyou.

  • fucking love isis i like how they evolved in sound over the years. and this vid shows it.

  • ferrofluid and isis go together like peas and carrots

  • I like the uneasy effect that this song gives me.

  • Gefühl und Härte in perfekter Kombination R.I.P. ISIS

  • One of the best bands ever.

    Only 150,000 views wtf?

  • @Gajin7chronicles All good bands are under-rated

  • Only 150,000 views?

This is one of the best bands ever.

I guess people don't get it.

  • @Gajin7chronicles

agree there mate - truly amazing

  • WTF DID THAT THING HAVE A MOTORCYCLE HELMET ON?! I HAVE TO KNOW.

  • Twin arteries flow with the pulse of one mighty heart

    *HOLY FUCKING OUTRO*

  • i dunno man

    ive been told about isis

are they of any use outside of this song?

  • @jtfles Depends on what you mean by "of any use". Are you hoping to use them to repair a Ford F150 engine? Or hoping to discover a form of music in which each song creates it's own unique atmosphere? I think it works for both, but I could be wrong.

  • @davethehostage i was trivializing the very idea of this band to be quite honest based on how this song sounds like sikth and tool just fucked together, nothing new, just a recap.they have a few nickelback-ish elements too which are good for a lol.

i guess what i was trying to say is: do they have any other songs outside of this that anyone thinks is worthwhile so i can give them a better verdict.im very busy and am looking for a new band to listen to while i work but do not have the time to

  • @jtfles I've gotta say, that's the first time I've ever heard of Isis being referred to as "nothing new". The Tool reference I can understand.. you lose me at Sikth lol. And where you found any "Nickelback moment" is beyond me. :S

  • @davethehostage the uplifting scream bit was sikthish

the guitar at one point had that nickelback sound and im an avid can fan and they have the very essence of can which i find is nothing new as ive murdered them by over listening.but my plea was to find a real good isis song. i found botch, is there any other great ones?

or indeed do you have any suggestions?

i want something ballsy like meshuggah.

they have balls to the max.

  • @jtfles "So Did We", "In Fiction", and "Hall of the Dead" are great starting points. Although if you're looking for ballsy like Meshuggah, I really don't think you'll find it in Isis lol. Their entire style is based around a more atmospheric/build-up kinda deal. If you want something dissonant and technical, I could only suggest a number of Swedish metal bands lol. And perhaps the Dillinger Escape Plan.

  • @davethehostage dillenger escape plan ruined aphex twin man

i will never forgive them for that ,

i will however watch their drummer kick ass forever ,holy shit,im downloading a few things by isis, everything you two have suggested to me has sounded like mogwai but with words.

    im diggin.

  • @jtfles "dillenger escape plan ruined aphex twin man" Are you talking about Irony is A Dead Scene? Get that bullshit out of here. mike patton and DEP nailed did a perfect cover of Come to Daddy.

  • @fenderguy746 Thank you.

  • @jtfles check out "ghost key". but what i wanna know is, if you are so busy and in such a hurry, why do you bother making comments on a youtube video? not only that, but even REPLYING. you kinda came off as a pompous ass.

  • @ilovechipotle85 i get twenty minutes a day to fuckin surf

it takes maybe 1 minute to make a comment

i have a lot of dogs.

don't be a dick.im not being pompus .thanks.

  • @jtfles

i can't find a better band to listen to whilst i am doing homework isis is amazing

  • toolish, i dig

  • @clipcalhoon Not in the slightest.

  • the video is excellent, great band

  • ive been a long time fence sitter on this band. but i think they're supreme song writers.

  • Get off that fence and jump for joy! They're so good man lol.

Hey would be great if you could come to our page and check our song and tell us what you think! Thanks guys!

  • Hey guys my band just put a new vid up i would be amazin if some isis fans n tool fans could tell us what they think. Cheers guys! Isis are gods!

  • Best video ever made

  • I gotta say, I just watched this video again, and this time I was blown away by it! I love the image of the plasma-like entity pulsing through the mesh... :D

  • ferrofluid....that's why God made the Universe...

  • loved

  • love this song but would someone please explain the video to me please!!!!!!

  • @8636qwerty The song seems to be about seeking something greater, a new path, love, who knows. The lyrics make it appear as though this person is crawling out of the darkness and into the light. The video is about someone (or something..?) who is trapped underground (in the darkness) and in the end, claws his way above ground (into the light). I think the video's just a big metaphor for the metaphor described in the song.

  • @davethehostage thanks that helped.

  • spettacolo la canzone + spettacolo il video + spettacolo i suoni = ISIS

  • hate to state the obvious and burst everyone's bubble, but this is EXACTLY like a Tool video. I mean, can anyone honestly disagree?

  • @hiddenexit The guitarist of Tool, Adam, who makes Tool's videos may have had a hand in this video. He is friends with this band and also has played guitar and keys on two of their songs ( I think on this album). The whole approach to their art is similar to Tool's, probably do to being around them so much. But perhaps some of Tool's ideas came from Isis?

  • @deadeyesdisarm yeah, i was wondering if Adam had been involved. I am new to this band, but hey, ain't bad!

  • @hiddenexit well, they are good friends afterall

  • @hiddenexit Just a bit of an ignorant thing to say really. Tool and ISIS have some similarities in their aesthetic, but they are not doing the same thing. 'Exactly like a Tool video' is just not accurate.

  • i just wanna get a hot emo guy and get whips and chains and do him to this haaha

  • artistically I think this is one of the best music videos I've ever seen I love aaron harris and the rest of ISIS

  • Woo, ferrofluids.

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND! THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER!!! PERIOD!@#!#@$

  • @gbl603

no, I really don't think they did at all.

  • @gbl603 I actually got into this band because of the music/screaming vocal style finding the right type of singing for this type of music is difficult and imo the screaming is better in this type of music.
