  • no other kid entertainer will come close to her...ever

  • have you see my new shoes, they are made out of wood

  • wonderful

  • lets take a walk maybe 3? f*** no. in those aboniations? rather do it in heels

  • Does this tune have a name? Is it classical or composed for the movie?

  • Even just from this little clip it's obvious that Grandfather is reading a story to Heidi about a Dutch girl. Heidi then sort of enacts the story with her little skit. They don't try to make it seem Holland is anything at all like Switzerland.

  • Goodnight, Everybody 1937

  • I'm just curious what Holland and wooden shoes possibly has to do with Switzerland, which is nowhere near Holland (The Netherlands) geographically and certainly not culturally simiar...

  • @jupitermoon10011 If you watch the clip, she opens a story book about Holland and then falls asleep........it's a dream sequence.

  • im 18 now, but when i was little, i loved this.

  • i love this movie i was named after the movie and the book. she is my all time fav i have all the movies

  • Why does this video have the tags it does?

  • I'm Dutch - and I find it hard to understand why an American Heidi film needed a Dutch clog dance scene back in 1937!

And they really had no clue what a Dutch windmill looks like... Hilarious.

  • lmaoo she is quite cute.

  • is this in holland? i think it is.

  • i believe it's based in switzerland!

  • It's Holland. Clues (setting) are -- windmills; tulips; and FLAT terrain (no Swiss Alps). And (costumes) -- "Dutch Blue"; "Dutchboy" pageboy haircuts; girls' turned-up-&-out white wimples; and (of course) wooden CLOGS. Tho too, wooden clogs were worn by peasants of France, Belgium, etc.

  • Oh gracious.. I'm the user superhetoric and I have no idea why I said Switzerland! I think I thought I was commenting on a Heidi video (such is either based in Germany or Switzerland). Sorry!

  • Oh . . . the outer story of Heidi (the girl reading the book about the dancing Dutch children in Holland) is indeed in Switzerland. "Heidi" is set in (and all about her love of) the Swiss Alps! And Frankfurt is in Germany (in Hesse, thus "Herr Hesseman").

  • i used to watch shirley temple alot. i dont know what happened to the videos i had. this song is so cool. i keep singing it over and over alot

  • I was named after this movie. it is still one of my favorites

  • I love the little outfits they made for her!

  • I love Shirley Temple movies! I used to watch them all the time with my mom and sister. Heidi is one of my favorites.

  • Awe I used toown this :P

  • i just realized she falls asleep on a lot of people....

  • does anyone else think the boys are REALLY creepy with their hair and really uncomfortable looking pants?

  • its so hard to dance in wooden shoes

    (like the ones she wearing)

  • I think she's adorable.

  • Wuss! She was the cutest little girl!

  • Shirley temple was 9 at this time.

  • Colorization of Black and White films is not a completely refined science at this time. The process is very complex and time consuming. Some agree with you, the original Black And White is better, others do not. It's a matter of taste really. The important thing is, these classics have been digitized, and thereby protected forever for all future generations to enjoy.

  • Precisely..:)

  • only bad thing about is, Why is it in that terrible color??? Black and White is the ORIGINAL version. The color is just absolutly horrible.
