heres what I think: people believe in a father figure to believe that, through all the pain, suffering, and death, it happens for a reason and that god has a plan behind it all. If people don't have something to guide them, they can't stand the way the world is.
The theory of god is like the number theory. If someone were to come up to me and say I figured out what infinity is, I would say really add 1 to that number. The same principle goes with god. Someone tells me there is a god, I would say really then who created god, and then who created the thing that created god, we get into that loop of infinity. Clearly there is no real or imaginary number that is infinity, so there most not be a god either.

The theory of god is like the number theory. If someone were to come up to me and say I figured out what infinity is, I would say really add 1 to that number. The same principle goes with god. Someone tells me there is a god, I would say really then who created god, and then who created the thing that created god, we get into that loop of infinity. Clearly there is no real or imaginary number that is infinity, so there most not be a god either.

you say every story in the bible was proven wrong more than once. care to explain? because i can tell you the flood, sodom and gomorrah and the plagues of egypt haven't been even though the reason they happened may have been different than the bible. as for adam and eve it doesn't say anywhere that the story is literally true. the mud thing was because back then they had less knowledge of science, i don't even think jesus took bible stories literally which is what offended the jewish priests.

There's no proof on either side. There are theories and ideas no proof. Theists (christians muslims etc) think you need evidence to prove god isnt real, but if u cannot come up with any solid evidence for god being real then we dont need to disprove it as there is no reason to think it is real in the first place.
