I just love this scene it's just so sad! I felt like crying but I couldn't do it. Who is ur favorite character and what is UR favorite movie tell me and I'll be happy to no I like snape....
@xxxcxiichicxxx I love the 4th movie the best because of all the tasks and the rise of Voldemort ending... ^_^ I like Harry the best. It amazing me how he 'won' in the very end. Harry Potter really is a GREAT series! :D
Its sort of strange how Fleur was the first to realize that Cedric was dead. I think everyone acted really well in this scene though. Fleur's horrified scream, Harry's crying, the father's cries, it was just all really good.
Sadly, even though this was really the least intense and painful death of the series, it's by far the saddest and most moving scene of all the movies. His father absolutely sells it. I watched movies 4-6 in the theaters, and the only time there were actually people crying in the theater was this scene. :( Perhaps because the other movies 'sad' scenes (y'know the ones) are so important they're...glamorized. This one is simple and raw and effective.
I love this scene in the book and the movie version is pretty good too except it's frustrating when they alter what JK Rowling originally wrote. For instance, in the book, Harry's not having a panic attack but is in shock and in a daze...plus Daniel Radcliffe's acting in this scene isn't so good.
@impasse0124 They really changed a lot, too much, in GOF, diluted it to the Triwizard tournament and no subplots. I wish they had kept him in shock and in a daze too, and kept Dumbledore's speech the same and ahd the the Memorial Feast
its so sweet when snape puts his hand on dumbledore's back as comfort 0:52.from there u can tell he's a good man,if he was bad no matter how he fools dumbledore he would never be that sweet and he did it impulsively.AND by the way saddest scene in the harry potter series.even more sad than dumbledore's death
@shaniceCum1 Snape is a very interesting character, and at times shows moments of compassion. I think he would feel that Cedric's death was wrong and pointless, he's not cruel.
And you are so right about Cedric's death! Cedric's death was so pointless, and he was such a good person. Even worse was it was partly his own sense of fairness and honour that he agree to tie.
I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but giggle at the video description. I mean, "Harry returns with a dead Cedric Diggory?" It sorta sounds like he went shopping for one.
Nevertheless, this scene always makes me sad. It was actualy more emotional than Sirius's death scene in my opinion, even though I love Sirius.
@familyguyfangirl I totally agree with you about Cedric's death, I loved Sirius too, but Cedric's death was so wrong because he was an innocent in the wrong place at the wrong time and because of that he died
I MEAN PPL IMAGINE U THINKIN UR SON IS ONE OF TH WINNERS N DEN U REALIZED DAT HES DEATHHH!! OMGG I WILL KILL MASELF =(!!! ughh i miss u CEDRICCCCCCCCCCCC ='(!!!!
FUCKIN SHIT!! I CRYIED WHEN I SAW DIS PART OF DA MOVIE! DIS SCENE IS DA SADDEST OUT OF DA WHOLE FREAKIN MOVIEE!! ughh i fell in love wit him, y did he have to die =(!! i miss him so muchh ='(! RIP CEDRIC! we weill alwayz remember u ='(!
I saw this 4 years ago in IMAX and I died during this scene. Only movie scene ever that made me choke up and cry. Dan was amazing here, remember in the 3rd film when he was crying. It was awful, but he redeemed himself with his stellar crying skills here. :D You go Dan!!
hmmm.. yknow.. somehow this looks more emotional than the part in OOTP wherein sirius died (and that's supposed to appear more intense because that's Harry's only family left.)
Different director, that's why I think they need to all sit down and decide based on fan's opinions and overall reviews of the movie who the final director should be. I think Yates should not be the director for the next 2 films. Order of the Phoenix had so much potential to be a great film, but it simply wasn't, it was just ok. (I don't want to see Harry Potter become like Spiderman 3)
I know, i was counting on the emotional scenes and angst so much. But ootp just seemed like a bunch of really good trailers put together in a movie. Im REALLY hoping the 6th one is better..
the scene was extremely well put together, and the music used is on the soundtrack. I suggest you listen to it because it really is a great piece. It's called "death of cedric", even though u prob could have figured that out on ur own.
I love this film, I start crying all the time when I watch this scene, my tears start as soon as they return and when Fleur screams, its so heart-rendering!
I think Harry's part could have been acted a bit better. I really love Harry Potter, the books and the movies, but I just wish Daniel Radcliffe was a bit more believable in this. I mean sometimes it seems like he's smiling and it just seems kind of fake.
Amos' cries over his fallen son are very moving as is Harry's reaction tryong to protect Cedrick's body. All of the Harry Potter movies are excellent.
Tell me only, who is the girl on the left side in a 1:35 in this movie - her name or something, she is really pretty!!! The greatest sad feeling from her face....
this bit is so damn good. I didnt even care about cedric that much( he was decent and i was sad) but this was done so well...the music, everyone realising it, but especially his dad...his dad seeing him is the saddest part

Gah. how sad.
Gosh, he's not freaking edward. he's in the harry potter movie here, HE'S CEDRIC DIGGORY. NOT EDWARD. ugh.
And just because the character dies doesn't mean the freaking actor dies.
Get it through your head. >__>
sigh.
poor cedric.
