  • Great footage!! They should put this out!!

  • AWESOME

  • At 2:03 I love the spacey effect Ace lays on the end of his solo. It segues well back into the last verse.

  • @luke8035 Not too many players can do more with a pentatonic scale than Ace....

  • Love the vintage 70's Kiss footage -

Rush was the opening act here and yes they only did four more shows in the Hotter Than Hell outfits, which have never returned again. This show marks the only known occasion where both Rock Bottom and Room Service were performed live during the same show. An announcement was made regarding bad pills circulating in the theater.

  • Wow. Ace is playing a Les Paul Jr. during Let Me Go Rock and Roll. Never seen that before.

  • This is seriously so exciting. Gene and Paul are never going to release this stuff. I love hearing them when they were YOUNG and HUNGRY. Personally, I think all the albums after Destroyer were mostly filler.

  • @kiss8mmfilms

KISS DID NOT OPEN WITH ROCK BOTTOM IN DETROIT, WHAT THEY DID WAS PLAY THE "TAPED INTRO" OVER VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE BAND GETTING READY FOR THE SHOW, WALKING DOWN THE CORRIDOR TO THE STAGE, AND OTHER FOOTAGE THAT WAS TAPED THAT DAY...

  • @anaheimangels40 I thought they played the tapped acoustic intro and then kicked into the electric portion of the song...?

  • There are zero people who are not DTK

  • This really is amazing footage. This may have been mentioned already but: the audio and video obviously aren't from the same show. EX: During the first verse of LMGRAR Gene says "Yeah, hah ha" but in the vid he's not near the mic. Same thing before the first solo. He says "rock and roll" Again, he's nowhere near the mic in the film. The audio is obviously from some DTK show but not the one in the film.

Not that it matters. It's still KISS at their BEST!

  • they are a different band pre destroyer almost beatle like with there vocal harmonies and more blues based music rock n roll stuff i like it

  • i can't get enough of the early, pre destroyer KISS. i know that this phase wasnt meant to last because its so damn good honest sex rock

  • I realize that this isn't the best recording OR the best performance of this song... BUT

THIS is when this band was HUNGRY. They weren't selling albums and they WEREN'T millionaires. You wanna hear a band at their best? THIS is FUCKIN' KISS!

  • love playing that solo!

  • Outstanding stuff here, never saw any of it before. Really cool! This was when Kiss was new, hungry and still had a sense of rock and roll danger. Excellant-thanks for posting!

  • this is the KISS that people need to remember

  • @troutmask1970 Indeed. Nothing like they are now.

  • awesome !

  • This is the kind of stuff the true kiss fans appreciate..I love the trivia that goes along with it. Never knew they opened with rock bottom. keep that rare info coming ...love it...

  • The REAL Kiss! Accept no half a tribute act!

  • Wow! Not sure how you get these clips, but keep 'em coming. This was epic!

  • Great, WHERE did the stereo audio come from?

  • I love it when stuff like this gets leaked. Very awesome footage, soooo totally amazing. I love KISS like this. Dressed To Kill era is without a doubt one of my favorite KISS eras. <3

  • @Inuyashafan5677 How is this leaked? leaked is usually taken from the studio without realese, this would be leaked if it was in the studio... however, a fan shot this.

  • amazing , stunning , magic ! thanx for the post !

  • Truly amazing footage. Thanks for sharing it!

  • WOW.Classic footage

  • I am in total awe...that is simply outstanding footage! How do you keep getting all this fantastic stuff!!??

  • Very very cool!! Thanx

  • this is really cool to see!Rock bottom the first song! i wonder if they did the slow guitar intro to? i wish there was more filmed of this show.in the kiss alive forever touring history book it mentions that they also played "room service" at this show to.

  • @redrocker1973 according to KISS ALIVE FOREVER: they played the intro over the p.a., and then the band hit the stage for the loud part

  • ONLY footage I've ever seen of ACE with Les Paul jr. guitar
