Sounds good - in terms of practicality, how does the Boss DD-20 Giga-Delay stack up here? I like the fact that you can program the DD-20 - can you program Tonefactors? And does the Tonefactor offers delays that you CAN'T get with the DD-20?
@utube9000 Time factor has something like 100 programmable presets and every mode has 2 independent delays (2 tempos and 2feedback and mix settings at once). Looping time is double on the Boss. Timefactor parameters (each one or several at once) are able to be controlled via external expression pedal.
if anyone with experience with this pedal could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm finally going to buy a delay pedal that should basically hit everything i need in a stage ready box. This is so far what seems to be it, i've tried everything from Boss, Satch's Time Machine, TC Electronic's Nova Delay, and others. I play a very wide variety of music and is there anything this doesn't do very well in particular?
@Littlewing1213 by far the most versatile and great sounding delay out there.. it's not quite cheap but worth every cent... for live performance and studio as well... I've been using my friend's for a couple of weeks now and I just ordered mine yesterday... =) so I'm pretty excited about it... I may not be as experienced but I only needed a couple of weeks to forget my boss DD3 and my momory boy deluxe forever
@presencechaser The Factors would certainly cut it for me but the truth is that I don't use them either. My board is a spartan affair given the access I have to some heavy-duty stuff. I only use what I need. Check out v=WrODOyF-g2E to see what I mean. Cheers, BK.
Wow Brett hats off to you mate, really really good job on this video... Maserati plugins! Dude, you are earning way too much money! Seriously though good on you, for making a great career in a fairly small market! Your vids are very good.
@HedgeHogRon The truth is I could never afford them - Waves plugs. This channel doesn't pay a cent (much to the horror and frustration of my long suffering wife!) but it has bestowed a few pedals on me. The reason I can use the Waves stuff in Post is because I work for their distro in Australia. That avails me use of their stuff - I have to know about it. Lucky me. :)
Found one for sale on ebay and asked the seller, turns out I need to get my head round the wiring / fx chain. Nothing to do with the settings in the pedal.
I highly recommend the GT-3. Real quality sound and so tweakable.
I paid £65 for it. and money well spent I'd say.
I do have a hankering after a T.C.Electronic Nova Delay pedal !!
Have you got one of those? If you have...I'm jealous !!
Hey Burgerman, I loved this video! quick question though... is there a way to change the delay subdivisions to quarter note, dotted eighth, half, etc.. and tap in. if there is is it pretty easy?
Hi i know this is a total noob question but i'm thinkin about getting one of these but I cant tell if theres a way to bypass it. do you have to just unplug it or is one of those switches a bypass?
Great Demo. Just bought one of these. Sorry to say I searched the Eventide Forums, viewed your 37 posts, and can't find where you posted presets (with one single preset exception). Love the sounds though... hence the search! :)
You did a really good job. I will never understand this pedal. I have one, but I cannot set my own sound. Your sounds are all amazing. Thanks a lot for the video. Do not hesitate to post the settings. congratulation!
@Dopaminergie Thanks! You know, the stoopid thing is that I never saved any of the settings. I'm a hopeless tweaker. I did however post some of the settings on Eventide's site around 10 months ago. You might have to hunt for the thread but they'll be there. TGP too, if I'm not mistaken. I'll be doing the PitchFactor in a couple of weeks. That should be fun. At the moment though, I'm still trying to teach myself how to use it properly. Thanks for watching! BK. :)
@MrTelecosta Thank you, sir! I'm afraid I can't help with the patch though..Unless it's on the Eventide site where I posted most of theme 9 months ago. I'm the type that mucks around with a sounds, records it once and then moves on. Much to the frustration of engineers and you guys. Sorry!!
that is a VERY cool pedal. I dont hear stereo delays very often. and this comes out really well. loll i cant wait to have my stereo rig with my g major 2 XD
well there i was chundering on to my wife about why can't anyone else do as good reviews as good old burgs (stop moaning she said) with such good sound quality when i came across this timefactor one - i yelped 'at last someone else understands good soundings' then promptly fell over laughing when i realised it was indeed the master again. burgs your vids are just light years ahead of anyone elses and should be compulsory viewing before anyone posts a review. thanks so much . . .
Tough call. The Eventide is fabulous as we all know; it's hard to beat its versatility and sound. But that damn wall wart.. The D.L.A., on the other hand, gives me everything that I actually use at the gig - a little modulated delay, tap tempo sometimes. So, despite the scope of the Eventide, I've been veering towards the Tech 21 of late. The T-Rex Reptile is another very good one although it's short the tap tempo facility.
Thanks! I fed the left and right inputs to separate and hard panned instances of Amplitube Fender (clean Deluxe Reverb or Twin setting, I forget which) inside Logic. So just two channels of Logic, panned left and right. You could do the same with two *real* amps and mics but this was the easy way out! :) Thanks for watching!
Brett, great demo once again. Good to see your getting better. Did I see a Farndurk Valven in the opening intro. Not seen a demo of the Valven yet. :-)
Hey Dimitriyus, thanks for the kind words once again. :) Yes, thank you, I'm getting better. That's why I'm on a mission to churn out some high-quality clips at the moment; just so I can get back into the swing of things. I can't stand and play yet, but I can sit for a little bit with my Strat and a pedal or two, so I'm happy. All good! And Sadie keeps me smiling, too. :) Hell, she keeps EVERYONE smiling! Cheers, BK.
this guy has a way of playing that pisses me off!

hi there mr burg, sorry for my ignorance, but is there a mode on the eventide timefactor that allows the delay to trail after turning the pedal off?
EarlMendoza03 4 months ago
It's a shame you included reverb in the signal path for this demo: it would have been more useful to hear the effect of this box on its own...

Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie :)
I listened to this in my studio through a pair of Spirit Absolute 2's and , well.......
If I didn't know I was watching youtube, I would have sworn you were in the room with me..brilliant quality.
In your arsenal of pedals, do you have a Boss GT-3 by chance?
I just bought one, but can't suss out the FX SEND. The manual was crap!!
Do I have to activate it somewhere inside the gubbins?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Okay Brett. If you had to take this or the Tech 21 DLA to a show, which would it be?
I have a DLA and love it, but I do like having the options for different delay sounds. Especially mod delay.
