there is no big conspiracy, governments have done this for as long as they have existed because it is the reason they exist -to farm money from the population. the government doesn't care if the economy colapses because the polititians have their money safely tucked away in the form of gold and silver, it is in their intrests for the economy to colapse now because that would send their own already substantial personal fortunes in gold and silver through the roof.
One day maybe Bush will be recognized as a Patriot with a capital P for invading Iraq and grabbing control of the oil, including the 115 billion barrels of estimated oil reserves under Iraqi sands.
The problem so far is that there is insufficient peace in Iraq to fully utilize the pump out and securing an administration there to give US oil at an Imperial preference rate.:0

I look @ the US and @ first glance I come up w/ the same conclusion, that America is doing all this for the interest of its people. But when you dig deeper you'll see that American people are by far poorer and more miserable than most Europeans and some EA countries even though the country is richer.
