I don't think you understand how great that goal against Finland @ 10:35 felt.. and how lead heavy it was for they Soumis. It's such a love hate relationship we have with them. It's almost like we don't give a shit about the rest of the tournament as long as we kick Finlands ass. Which we do in 9/10 games.

Peter's problem was that he was a bit too tough for being such a skilled player. All though I think he couldn't have played the game any other way than he did, he might have lasted longer if he wasn't so nasty (which he was..) which meant he took a lot of revenge cheap shots.

There were some serious slashings ans hookings back then, and still he played like he did.

You often think of his passing och puck skills when you think of Forsberg, but he had an azaming balance, skating and puck protection ability. Probably the most complete forward to ever play the game.He had injuries, but in someway I think they came with his physical style of play in combination with his domination, everyone wanted to stop him, no matter what.

He will forever be considered the best for me.

Forsberg was and has been my favorite player growing up and when he was in his prime, was hard to find a more complete player then he was. But I truly think that Claude Giroux has those same hands, play style, knowledge, instinct, and just plain out tenacity to be the next Forsberg. I hope to see Giroux blossom into that player and not be victim to injuries like the great Foppa.
