i love this video!!! I am playing soft ball and I am working on pitcing and rita is showing me alot of thing!!! MAKE MORE VIDEOSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, starting with a pound is going to cause massive damage. I don't know about America, but I know in Australia you can get weighted balls which start at 9ounces and go up to 16 ounces. 1 pound is FAR too heavy.
The more I watch this woman's advice the more I want to get girls away from her!
If you watch and listen to the video. She says you should not throw harder than 70% with the cannonball. She also has videos for the regular weighted balls like the 9oz one you mention. By the way, 16 ounces is one pound.
I did see that later, but I still don't know if I agree with using that ball from the start. (and I'm an Aussie so get confused with the measurments)
Honestly, so much of her advice is good that I think it outweighs the bad (and have already emailed my coach showing that I should be pitching flicking my foot back!) I've been watching and will use a lot of her advice, so I'm very glad Rita did all these videos, even if some of it I disagree with.
You never want to go from the Cannonball® to regular ball and throw it as hard as you can. You should toss the ball a few times to get used to not having a weighted ball in your hand, and to prevent internal damage to your shoulder and elbow.
