However the only way I can see it working is if you wrote over enough code that it effectively became an entirely new OS, which would render all drivers useless and all programs in need of replacement. It wouldn't get rid of the virus but it would eliminate the viruses ability to communicate with the computer.... but that's a dumb idea. May as well just do a fresh install.
